Well organised and friendly team member. Not rushed and plently of breaks in the walk. Great fresh and sweet pineapple in the van cafe when you return.
Big thank you to Paul Mahoney from Oahu Nature Tours for leading a great hike on 13.1.2018 and most importantly for being a cool, calm and collected comrade during the 'incoming missile' alert in Honolulu issued early that morning!! After the very shaky start to the day it all turned out really well and our group had a great day. Rachel Dumas, Sydney, Australia.
The guide was informative and friendly. The climb wasn't too hard but you certainly need to be reasonably fit as by the time you get to the top, you know you've climbed the crater! Fantastic views of the bay. Would recommend but only if you're fairly fit.
Great tour. Ken, our guide was wonderful. Thanks -- Nonna and grandsons
Loved this tour. I'm not a hiker by any means but this walk was suitable for all ages and fitness levels so do not be discouraged. There are quite a few steps though so keep that in mind. The views from the crater are stunning. I took this tour at sunrise. I don't know that I would want to do this tour during the middle of the day. It would be quite hot.
We had a wonderful guide, Ken. He was very informative and did it in a very fun way. He made everyone feel comfortable with each other, encouraging conversation amongst us. He called us by name, like he had known us for a while. The hike up and back was breath taking. Loved every minute of it. Would definitely suggest this excursion!
A great hike. Beautiful view when you make it to the top. Be ready for a great workout at your own pace.
What you are really paying for is a ride to Diamond Head and for the historical information the guide gives you. I have to give it 5 stars because the bus pick up was on time and the guide was great. However, you could simply take a city bus to Diamond Head and hike the crater for free, which is what I would do next time.

The guide Lavent was great he stopped quite a few times for everyone to catch up then tell us about the area I know if he hadn't done that I wouldn't have been able to do it. The views were incredible and it was well worth the trip
It was a great experience the tour guide was so helpful and knowledgeable. Grant it was a little work to do the climb at my age and health but it also was good to do it also. the view was amazing breathtaking all so worth it. The guide was very kind to wait for me with my slower pace and make sure I made it down safely and ok. He even took a pic for my wife and I so he was great I wish I remembered his name to give him credit
Paul was a fantastic and fun guide, the views incredible. Based on the experience of one of the walkers in our group, ensure you are physically able for this trip. It is not 'easy' but certainly worth getting to the top. Great activity
We had a light mist the day of our tour but it was appreciated as it had been nearly 90 degrees the day before. The trail was a bit slick in some spots due to the rain but the views along the way were so worth it!
This was a fantastic trip and a must if you are in Oahu. Tori our guide was amazing and very helpful and knowledgeable. The views were breathtaking and since we went in the morning we beat the crowds and it was a bit cooler. I would highly recommend this trip and Tori as your guide.
Excellent experience. Beautiful sights. Only disappointment was driving to AlaMoana Mall for pickup and we could have been picked up right at the hotel. Major fail on their part.
One of the best Tours/Hikes ever. Paul was an amazing and very patient guide. Well worth the visit.
We had a great time. The view from the top was awesome. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very concerned for everyone's safety
THe driver/guide was amazing with knowledge of the area and sites along the way.
Absolutely awesome experience and I thought I wouldn't be able to do it but I did. Such a life changing experience. I would recommend this hike to anyone who wants to get the most breathtaking view of the entire island. It's well worth the effort.
This was probably my favorite thing that we did in the 9 days we were in Hawaii - and we did a tour every single day. The guide was fabulous and view from the top was absolutely breathtaking. You have to be patient to get right up to the rails so you can get a pic without other people in it though. There is a darling lighthouse that you can see from the top - it makes a great pic! I thought it was a pretty easy hike but there were a few people heaving and sitting on the side to catch their breath...
Bethany was our driver and guide for this tour, and she did a great job of educating the group about Diamond Head and Hawaii. She kept us entertained during the bus ride and throughout the hike. The climb up DiamondHead is not an easy one, especially for us middle-aged slightly overweight desk jockeys. If you're in decent shape and used to hiking, this one should be a breeze for you. The trail is only about 3 quarters of a mile, but it is fairly steep, and there are some stairs involved. But you can pause and rest and take it at a slower pace if necessary. There are several breathtaking lookout spots along the path, and the view of Honolulu from the top is simply amazing and worth the effort. Be sure to bring a bottle or two of drinking water, and wear a hat since Hawaii is almost always sunny. Treat yourself to a shaved ice snow cone when you get back to the bottom of the mountain.
