Not worth it
Andrea_V, Mar 2023
This was really unfortunate! We got to our park reservation at 2pm and the PHC people did not want to give us the audio supplies because the closed at 4pm…they continued to discourage us even though we said we could be up and back writing an hour and a half…the staff lady made it very clear that she did not want to have to hike up in the mud to retrieve the audio systems should we not make it back…Even though it was only $15 it is not worth the hassle.. just read the brochure that the park rangers give you out loud…There’s your audio tour! Also, maybe I missed it but I didn’t see anywhere where it states you must also make a park reservation and pay for parking which are additional costs.
Amazing views, fun hiking experience, lots of history
Jeremy_S, Mar 2023
Definitely a great experience. Just make sure you get the hiking and parking reservation as this is only for a recorder and headphones that gives you a background of the history. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. The hike will be challenging for some but the views are breathtaking.
Lousy audio
Anthony_C, Mar 2023
The scenery was beautiful on the hike but we could barely hear the narrator on the audio portion so after a while we just stopped trying to listen. It was a waste of money.
Amazing Day. But don't need audio tour
Jason_B, Feb 2023
Upgrade technology. Maybe AN pp. Because if you have your phone you then have to carry another iPhone. Too much.
Scam
Frank_M, Jan 2023
Nowhere on your website did it say you needed a separate pass from the park service to get in to take this tour. We never got into the park. This is a scam.
The beautiful scenery was...
JERIOD_W, Jan 2023
The beautiful scenery was breath taking. The hike was challenging and exactly what I needed. Great time!
Deceptive
Niketa_S, Dec 2022
I thought I was purchasing entry into the park! Didn’t even want a narrated tour. The hike is hard enough! I am due this happens all the time as the folks in the visitor both seemed to acknowledge my suspicion. Of course your call center gave the usual refund script which is ridiculous as you know by the time the individual figures the mistake out it is too late. Shame on you!
Response from Host, Dec 2022
We are very sorry you had a less-than-wonderful experience at the park. The Diamond Head state park is a beautiful hike/climb, and as you shared, we offer audio tours as an option for visitors. We try very hard to state clearly in the audio tour description that admission and parking are NOT included in the tour purchase. Still, unfortunately, some people do not read the information or forget and fail to make reservations for the hike separately. This does not happen too often, but it is terrible when it does, and people show up without reservations. If you have suggestions on how we might improve this messaging please send them to us, and we will look at making the changes to our information. We hope you will have a chance to return to Oahu in the future and reserve the hiking ticket, as it is an exceptional experience. Warmest regards, The Pacific Historic Parks Team.

Amazing hike full of historical information and views
Jorge_D, Nov 2022
Highly recommend the audio tour as it allows you to appreciate the historical element of Diamond Head while you get to experience the best views. You might even see a rainbow or two!
I bought this in error...
Dania_B, Nov 2022
I bought this in error thinking it was the actual hike pass To me it was confusing in to the purchased, you should be more specific Not sure if I am the only one buying this instead of the actual hike pass for 5.00 Even the price is the same ..
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Aloha Dania, Thank you for your review. We are listening and have made additional statements on the audio tour so that visitors might see that the audio tour does NOT include park admission fees which must be booked seperately. Thank you again, and we hope you will have a chance to revisit us soon and take the Diamond Head Park hike, as it is a uniquely beautiful experience. Warmest regards, Pacific Historic Parks Team

Not happy.
Tammy_K, Nov 2022
Never took it! We arrived at 3:40 and they closed at 3:30 we were told. The gate attendants were not helpful (only wanted to walk not get a headphone tour). It was the same price but they said I’d have to get a different set of tickets. We left! Also thought the whole park closed at 6:00. We were on vacation from Michigan, and disappointed.
Response from Host, Dec 2022
Aloha Tammy, We are sorry that you did not have a wonderful visit to the Diamond Head State Park. The State of Hawaii and our PHP team really want every visitor to have a wonderful experience, and when that does not happen, we are deeply concerned. As you noted, the hike at the park has a stop time for safety, so the audio hiking tour you purchased with us really can not be used if you are not on the hike as there are numbers along the path to press for the associated information. We know Michigan is beautiful, but we hope you have the opportunity to revisit us in the future and take the hike to the top as it is an amazing experience. Warmest regards, Pacific Historic Parks Team

What an outstanding adventure! A great father/son bucket list hike up Dimond Head filled with many photo ops that will be cherished for many years to come. Beautiful scenery, friendly and helpful park personnel that made the morning hike even better. THANK YOU…
Amazing Adventure
Lalena_C, Oct 2022
Just breathtaking views and really cool historical bunkers we got to explore up close and personal.. this is a must hike adventure :)
Not official Park Pass
Jolleen_C, Sep 2022
I assumed when the state park site took my to this site it was the official Diamond Head entry pass. I received no details saying otherwise. I arrived at park gate only to be told the bar code I received was from a tour company and if I wanted to go I needed to go to a QR code they gave me , pay again to enter which I did. I did not get any communication from this company about logistics…
Diamond Head miss
Lynette_W, Sep 2022
We didn’t realise that we had to book parking (wife walks with a stick so close accessability is required) separately from the tour. When we got there no more parking could be booked as it had sold out, so we turned around and went home.
Worth the climb
Steve_H, Aug 2022
went early in the morning , nice sunny day, tunnel was unique, not too much traffic, overall - worth the effort, gift shop lacking

Waisted my $
Karen_K, Aug 2022
We did not do this experience that I paid for because your online page did NOT remind users that they need a separate reservation to do the hike. You best get your act together. My family of 11 did the hike today. Didn’t need the narrated tour.

Great walk but slow most...
Kathryn_S, Aug 2022
Great walk but slow most people don’t move to the side for you and, I’m not a fast walker so a little annoying! Go when really hot to avoid crowds
