What You Can Expect

Manoa Waterfall Small Group Adventure

Manoa Waterfall Small Group Adventure

Get off the beaten path as you explore one of the most beautiful waterfalls on Oahu, Manoa Falls, during this 4-hour excursion. It’s a great chance to explore the lush natural environment and beautiful scenery that have earned this island a deserved reputation as a tropical paradise.

Start your day with pickup from your Waikiki hotel at either 8am or 2pm (depending on the tour departure option you select). Please note that any guests not staying at a hotel in Waikiki will need to arrive at the Ala Moana Hotel for their pickup.

Then journey to the start of your hiking excursion, situated on the Manoa Trail just outside of Honolulu. Follow along with your trip’s guide and nature expert as you journey on 2-mile hike for about 2 hours into the lush-green forest along the trail. The hike proceeds at a moderate pace and sometimes features wet and slippery terrain due to the frequent moisture in the area. As you walk, listen to insightful commentary from your guide about area’s unique natural history, geology and ecosystem.

Soon you’ll arrive at the towering Manoa Falls, a waterfall with a vertical drop of around 150 feet (45m). This beautiful waterfall has earned plenty of camera time from tourists and Hollywood alike, thanks to its role as a filming location for Steven Spielberg’s 1997 movie, The Lost World.

After getting a few good photos of this amazing natural sight, proceed back to your transport for the ride back to Waikiki for a drop-off at your hotel.

This easy and interesting hike in the jungle was a wonderful outing. Steve, our guide, was very knowledgeable about nature and the sights of Honolulu. He was more than willing to share what he knows with enthusiasm and confidence.
The falls at the end of the hike were well worth seeing at the end of the climb. Be sure to take in this Hawaiian experience.

A serene and quiet view into a world far removed from our everyday hustle. A great guide, knew most all of the flora and fauna that we saw, even on a first name basis with several. Filming location of Jurassic Park movies pointed out and a brief look back in time to the Paleo era. Waterfall was poetic in its drops falling so far downward to the pool. It did rain slightly but it is after all a rain forest, it added to the trip. Excellent hike, wear good boots.

This is a great tour if you don't minds a walk to see the waterfall and want to experience nature. Our guide was very relaxed and took his time with us. He had an interest or background in botany and was happy to help out with questions and also anyone who had difficulty on slippery surfaces. I found the walk quite easy. I am 50 and reasonably fit. My friend found it a bit more challenging as her knees are not great but she managed it and felt happy to have walked the whole way without her knees playing up. We were not rushed and stopped along the way to take photos and hear about the types of trees we were seeing. I recommend this to anyone with moderate fitness. There are some rocky surfaces along the way to step on and a little slippery some places but the guide was helpful as where to walk.

The tour was magnificent: majestic 'prehistorical' scenery, a competent and engaged guide, suitable equipment, nice time management. Plus the weather bonus - it had not rained on the eve and the trail running on uneven terrain was not slippery or muddy.

We had a truly fantastic hike. Our guides were second to none and they made the hike come alive. The vistas were brill. So many films have been made here as well, J Park, King Kong, Lost etc. This was one of our most loved trips with this small company who put heart and soul into their tour. Can get wet and even if you would like to do not go for a swim very dangerous Leptospirosis in water. The easy way to get right into the rain forest. My images were too large to include.

Tour guide Justin is extremely knowledgable and kind. Good conversation; we learned a lot and have a better understanding of the hiking area and about Hawaii.
