What You Can Expect

Oahu Island Photography Tour

You may have the chance to see the endangered monk seal

This unique, full-day (8.5-hour) Oahu photo tour begins in Waikiki with a hotel pickup in a spacious, air-conditioned van.

Join the professional photographer tour guide who will, throughout the day, point out the specific details of photography that are oftentimes not seen by the untrained eye. Learn how to use light, and discover what framing, shutter speed, focal points and other important topics mean to composing a great image. Then explore the best places — and find the best angles — in which to take pictures on this breathtaking island. It’s the best of both worlds: elite instruction with some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

The specific destinations and subject matter will vary depending on the day and the time of year, but some of the possibilities include sweeping coastal vistas, pristine beaches, sacred heiaus, flowing waterfalls, dramatic mountain valleys and in the wintertime, big waves and fearless surfers. Also, look for Hawaiian monk seals and green sea turtles.

Along the way, learn about Hawaii’s history, its wildlife and the geography from the naturalist guide who is not only an expert in photography, but also a Hawaii insider with an in-depth knowledge of the island of Oahu.

This full-day photography tour is suitable for all skill levels — from beginners to advanced shooters, using everything from smartphones to high-end DSLR cameras. There will be a break for lunch (own expense) on Hawaii’s North Shore to relax and get a taste of the local flavors.

At the end of the day, walk away with some incredible images, an abundance of professional photography tips that will last a lifetime and an appreciation of Oahu’s rich history and culture.

This photography tour ends with a hotel drop-off in Waikiki.

What an amazing tour!!!! Marie is a sweet woman and an amazing photographer. My daughter and i had so much fun on her island tour. She took us to beautiful places and we stopped at a great hidden lunch spot. She taught us so much about our cameras and how to take better pictures. We learned a lot. I like the intimate tour...we had 4 people and got personal attention. A man in our group had a smart phone and she gave him tips on how to take better pictures. I wish i lived in Oahu so i can take this tour and others she offers all the time. Marie is the best...take this tour if you want to see Maries beautiful Oahu!!!

My wife and I were picked up from our hotel in the morning and taken to some very scenic locations around the island. The advice and tuition that we received from a very knowledgable and friendly tour guide, who clearly knows her way around a camera was outstanding. We would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get the best out of their camera. Thank you Jenny for a wonderful day and some very helpful and insightful tips.

Brillant tour where everything went smoothly. The guide is a professional photographer who was able to share her knowledge and expertise and I got some good photos from the day as well as seeing some very scenic spots on Oahu. I very much enjoyed the day and would highly recommend this to any budding photographers out there.

This was a brilliant tour. Marie was so patient and full of information for 2 novices who really didn't know a lot about their new digital SLRs. No question was silly and we both walked aware with a greater understanding of our cameras and more love for beautiful Oahu. The locations were fabulous and I loved the stories that Marie could tell us about the locations. This was one of the best days of our trip. Thanks Marie

I took this tour as I wanted to get a bit more experience in using my new camera. There were four of us on the tour one being my wife who is not really in to photography but she enjoyed the tour and the locations we were taken to.
Evan was our tour guide and drove us around and explained the history of the places we visited. He answered my queries on the set up of my camera and the best settings to use for the different shots.
Perhaps a bit more explanation on composing the shot would have been helpful.
He was friendly and drove in a very safe manner.
I would have liked to have gone to a waterfall but perhaps time did not permit.
