What You Can Expect

Port Antonio Day Trip from Ocho Rios

River rafting on the Rio Grande River

After morning pickup at your hotel or the cruise ship port, travel in an air-conditioned vehicle along the north coast highway for two hours to Port Antonio.

Drive through some of the wealthiest communities in Jamaica and pass the Goldeneye resort—once owned by famous people including Bob Marley, and the writer Ian Fleming — creator of the James Bond book series.

Upon arrival in Port Antonio, stop first at Somerset Falls for a 45-minute tour. Check out the hidden falls and cave, go swimming, or take a canoe upstream.

Next, head to the Blue Lagoon for a 1-hour tour by boat or raft (own expense). Swim in clear blue water that reaches a depth of 180 feet (55 meters).

Your final stop allows for a relaxing float down the Rio Grande river. Ride on a 30-foot bamboo raft and soak in views of the lush green hills as you go downriver to the Caribbean Sea.

Your tour ends with a drop-off at your Ocho Rios hotel.

An all-inclusive trip to this laid-back town. We were able to visit the local sights, which are breathtaking, because they are close to one another. From the mountain views to the residential areas to the coastal views the variety is a real treat for a tourist. To chat and eat with the locals gave us an authentic experience. Dr. Fun, the tour guide, was professional, safe, and quite knowledgeable explaining the history of all that we saw without talking too much and the lush vegetation of nut and fruit trees. The samples were a nice bonus added to a great day!
