Explore the old merchant town of Kurashiki at a slower, more authentic pace. Traveling by rickshaw, you’ll see the white-walled warehouses that were typical of the Edo Period — a time when the town prospered. Admire the tiny shops that line narrow streets, and head along a romantic canal path, framed by weeping willows. The start time, finish location, and duration are up to you.
Your tour starts at a time suitable for you between 9:30am and 5:30pm. Confirm this with the local supplier after you book. On the day, you’ll meet your guide in Kurashiki Old Town to start your tour by rickshaw.

From Kurashiki Monogatarikan, travel through Kurashiki Old Town. Sit back as your guide pedals you away from the city traffic, along a wide canal path lined with weeping willow trees. The backstreets nearby are home to many Kurashiki-style shops and warehouses, so have your camera ready as you pass by.
After visiting Kurashiki Old Town and the willow-lined canal path, continue past some of the mansions that once belonged to the town’s wealthy merchants. You’ll also see more small shops that are typical of the local area.
Follow the itinerary described for the 30-minute tour, but spend more time exploring the enchanting Old Town streets.
Meet your guide by the historic merchants’ mansions near Kurashiki Old Town, and travel through the quarter’s streets to see Kurashiki-style warehouses and tiny shops. From there, you’ll ride to Mt. Tsurugata, then back past the city’s old cotton mill. Finish with a jaunt along the pretty canal, lined with willows.
