What You Can Expect

Day Trip by Bus to Kyoto from Osaka

Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine

Pick an Osaka departure point that works for you, choosing a morning departure location from among Umeda’s Nishi-Umeda Hearton Hotel or the JR Namba “OCAT.” Guests wishing to meet the group in Kyoto can head to the JR Kyoto station.

Begin your first Kyoto visit at 10:00am by heading to the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine. Wander through this religious site’s collection of more than 1,000 brilliant-red “torii” gates and learn about its connection to the Japanese deities of agriculture, business, traffic safety, and a bountiful harvest.

Continue to Kyoto’s Kiyomizu-dera temple at 11:30am. You’ll have one hour to enjoy the amazing city views from the temple’s viewing platform, and to learn about the temple’s construction with 139 pillars and not a single nail. Following your Kiyomizu-dera visit, head to Shijo-karasuma at just after 1pm to enjoy an optional lunch buffet featuring an assortment of 50 different Western and Japanese cuisines.

After your lunch break, head to Kinkaku-ji temple where you’ll arrive at 2:40pm. Often referred to as “The Temple of the Golden Pavilion,” this elegant complex hosts a collection of peaceful gardens and traditional Japanese-style architecture. At the end of your visit you’ll be dropped off back at the JR Kyoto Station, or in Osaka at Namba OCAT or Hearton Hotel Nishi-Umeda.

It was my first time visiting Kyoto and I'm glad that I joined this tour. This package is just perfect for me as there are not too many locations to visit in a day but visited the most famous temples which I was looking for. A special thanks to our tour guide who is very nice and responsible. Will definitely recommend this day trip package to my family and friends.

I found the tour very informative, including interesting sights. Our guide was very knowledgable and nice. We had bad luck with the weather though, suffering from the rain pouring all day like crazy. As opposed to many other tours, I appreciated that suffucient time was allocated to each sight.

The tour bus is clean and tidy with free wifi and charging service for mobile very considerable.

The tour was on time and well organised. Tour guide explained the itinerary and high level introductions to the temples. However due to limitation with English, was not able to provide more detail information.
The set lunch consist of 4 different type of Tofu. While Kyoto is famous for that, it is a little too much tofu.
Overall tour was good and covers the venues as planned.

My family really enjoyed the tour even though the Japanese tempura lunch failed to
Set our expectations . The tour guide whose name I failed to note was an excellent guide who made our tour fun and educational .

Amazing sights! The bus ride was smooth, thanks to the driver, Sato! However, the tour guide, Shuji talked softly, people at the back can't hear him clearly. The tour guide didn't talk more about these places, we were a little disappointed about the tour.

Our tour guide did not speak English well. she spoke either chinese or Japanese I think. i was expecting that we will be given a quite comprehensive background of the temples that we visited. she had difficulty speaking the English language. Otherwise, she was nice to everyone.
