This tour was excellent and worth it! The vendor is JTB Sunrise and they do it first class. We were met at Hotel Granvia and taken by taxi to Shin Osaka station where the guide escorted us to the platform and made sure we were off to Hiroshima unescorted, once upon arrival another guide met us as we came off the platform, than taken to the bus. On the return was handled the same way. Our guide spoke excellent English and did a excellent job in providing great information on each area we went too. Its a long tour but worth it if you have a limited time in Japan.
This tour is a MUST. First, we met a greeter at the Swissotel Nankai Osaka Hotel Bell Desk which was about a 10 minutes walk from Osaka Monterey Grasmere appreciated that they name a specific area to meet BELL DESK. We were transferred via taxi to the Shin Osaka station to catch the Japan Rail to Hiroshima--smooth 200 mph ride. From there, we hopped onto a comfortable tour bus which took us to pass Hiroshima to Miyajima and Hiroshima. We had the privilege of having Mitsu of Sunrise Tours as our Tour Guide--what a humble, sweet, and soft spoken lady. She was audible and spoke English perfectly. A native to Hiroshima, we enjoyed her sharing personal experiences about the area along with the necessary tour guide script. We love her passion for Miyajima/Hiroshima. We jumped on a ferry to Miyajima Island. We pet deer hang onto your things--they eat paper LOL, took alot of pictures, and witnessed a wedding procession before being released for free time. Our group stopped to take a lot ... A LOT ... of pictures/toire breaks at the start of the walking tour which slowed down the tour however, Mitsu was gentle but firm to move us along. Note: The longer you stop to take pictures in the beginning, the shorter your free time to shop and eat. Tip: Don't rush allow your guide to move you along and take pictures later or be quicker about taking pictures. We had honor of having Mitsu join us for lunch she recommended okonomiyaki at one of the restaurants. We boarded the ferry back to our bus which took us to Hiroshima. The tour restarted at the Bomb Dome and Mitsu narrated all the way to the Museum. Not going to spoil the experience. You just have to DO IT!!! In the end, we boarded the bus to Hiroshima Station and rode the Bullet Train back to Shin Osaka Station. Surprisingly, our taxi took us to our hotel instead of taking us back to Swissotel. DOMO ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU!!
We really enjoyed this tour. Tour escorts were extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend
Great trip. Very friendly and helpful guide! Definitely recommend this tour!
This was a wonderful tour with a very informative and friendly guide Hiro.
We began this tour in Osaka. A guide escorted us from our hotel to Osaka station. The provided us with tickets and walked us to the platform before waving us off onto our train. Another tour guide was waiting for us as we disembarked at Osaka at the end of the tour and escorted us back to our hotel.
This tour was just fantastic. The transport from Osaka to Hiroshima was on the Nozomi bullet train and was an experience in itself! Once we arrived at Hiroshima we boarded a bus bound for Miyajima. A quick stop for photos at Hiroshima castle and we were on our way. We took the ferry to Miyajamir and our guide walked us through the shrine, pointing out the significance of various statues and parts of the shrine. We were lucky enough to witness a wedding being performed at the shrine on the day we were touring. Lunch and shopping were followed before we were back on the bus bound for peace park and the atomic bomb dome. A walking tour through both was both solemn and informative. Atfter this, we had time to explore the peace park museum which was full of information and relics related to the bombing. Finally, the bus took us back to the station and Hiro escorted us to the platform.
Such a wonderful tour! I'd highly recommend it!
We met our guide at our designated hotel and went directly to the train station. We were then met with a guide and directed to a ferry which took us to the Miyajima Island. This was quite interesting and we had time for lunch. We then returned to Hiroshima and the memorial sights. Quite impressive and interesting. I would highly recommend this tour. We only had one day in Osaka and did not want to miss Hiroshima while we were in Japan. We had excellent guides.
Highly recommended! Lots of time to explore on your own and with guide. We got to see a lot in a day so if you are short on time and want to see Hiroshima/Miyajima this is the tour to take.
Was quite interesting to visit Hiroshima and learn from the horror of the wars, be there and get the feeling how it was before the reconstruction. Mostly loved the time in Miyajima as we had to take a boat to get there, the tide was high so we didn't get to walk to the Tori, but the mainland shrine was floating on the water, which was also an amazing view. Enough time was allocated in Miyajima so we could wander around, pat the deers so cute!, eat some local snacks before going back to the meeting point. Lovely day tour, would recommend.
The best tour we had in Japan .. this tour is a must if you are staying in Osaka .. you'll see the beautiful Miyajima island and the Hiroshima memorial .. we had so much fun!
A very interesting tour and one which I would recommend to anyone who wishes to learn about the history of Hiroshima and the surrounding area. We had an excellent tour guide, Amy, who is native to Hiroshima and who was very knowledgeable.
Have to say that this was indeed great. Guide was Nobu, a native of Hiroshima. And she was great in engaging us over the history and culture of Hiroshima and Miyajima .. Would be good if you can pass on the appreciation to Nobu
Brilliant tour. Hiroshima was an eye opener. Very good guide.
Great trip with an expert guide in Akiko, who was both knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Would recommend to anyone interested in this type of tour.
Absolutely a delight. Miyajima was a treasure. Loved the entire trip. Yuko, the guide, was excellent. Shared so many things about Japan and Japanese life on top of the history of these attractions.
The pace of this trip was perfect. Never once felt rushed. The guide was simply gorgeous and her personal stories both moving, and humorous.
very well conducted leaving no worries to us. Everything worked in clock like precision and the guides were very friendly and knowledgeable. The itinerary also was thoughtfully made to provide adequate free time. I would recommend this excursion.
Do not miss this tour! the Hiroshima part was very good - educational and relaxing stroll through the museum and the park. But the Miyajima is the best part of this tour. The island has free roaming friendly deer. The food - okonomiyaki with oysters and maple cookies - is excellent. It has something for everyone in the family!
Akiko-san was an impressive tour guide, well-spoken, engaging and knowledgeable. The pace and timing of the tour was perfect. It was a long day, but well spaced so we never felt rushed and had plenty of time to take in the sites. Loved it!
It was a beautiful day and a wonderful trip. Tour guide very enthusiastic.
Our tour guide Mariko was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour very rewarding especially in regards to the Peace Park and Museum.
We were very moved in going through the Peace Museum. This was the highlight of the tour.
The transport to and from Osaka and Hiroshima was very organised. Including taxis from the meeting point to the Osaka Shinkansen Station and when we arrived back to Osaka at 8:00 pm we were given 2000 yen to cover the taxi back to our hotel.
The tour was very good. The guides looked after us well and were very knowledgable. The timings were good, we were allowed enough time in each place to see everything without feeling rushed. They even organised a taxi for us to take us back to our hotel. Most impressed!
Excellent tour and excellent guide. One thing to note is that the Miyajima part of the tour is really the majority of the time spent--more, actually, that was spent in Hiroshima. There was still time to see everything we wanted to in Hiroshima, but whereas we had thought the primary piece of the tour was going to be Hiroshima, that wasn't completely the case.
This was a fantastic tour! The best! The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very informative. She made traveling on the bus go by quickly with entertaining tidbits, games, songs and competitions with prizes!!! she was fabulous!!! Loved Miyajima island, the island in its self! Great shopping, could have use more time here! Loved this tour!!!!
Although the trip was a drizzly day, the arrangement with the tour company, the tour representative and tour guide were very accommodating. They made sure we were by their sides when moving through the busy train stations, at the train's platforms and awaiting taxi service. They even offered to cover part of the taxi cost back to our hotel at the end.
Mariko was very patient with questions and made the trip very informational and fun. She was very knowledgeable.
