This day trip takes you from Oslo all around Norway’s must-see sights, countryside, villages, valleys, and UNESCO-protected fjords, and back to Bergen or Oslo. With a relaxing train ride through Flåmsdalen, a boat cruise down the Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord, and a bus ride through Nærøydalen, this tour gives you picturesque views of fields, mountains, and waterfalls.

What To Expect

Your all-day expedition starts at the Oslo Train Station, where you hop on the Bergen Railway and ride to Mydral Station, tucked in the Nordic countryside. Transfer trains, and get on the Flåm Railway. Relax and enjoy the panoramic views as you travel through the beautiful valley of Flåmsdalen.

Board a boat, and take a cruise down the UNESCO-protected waters of Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord. Aurlandsfjord is well-known for its stunning blue waters, while Nærøyfjord’s high-mountain cliffs are a sight to see.   

Visit the village of Gudvangen, nestled in the innermost part of Nærøyfjorden, and take a bus through Nærøydalen. Your tour guide helps you spot charming villages along the gorgeous landscape. If your tour is planned between May and September, get a special treat as your bus heads down Stalheimskleiva, one of the steepest roads in Northern Europe, and see two cascading waterfalls.

Your bus ride ends in Voss where you can continue your tour to Bergen on the Bergen Railway, or you can call it a day with a train back to Oslo.

    Good but not perfect

    This is a good option for those wanting to experience the landscapes of Norway when short of time. But for the price and how packed it is, id recommended doing a more relaxed trip. What disappointed me the most is that there is a strict no refund policy especially when you are paying such a hefty price and when finding replacements doesnt seem difficult. Also, the tour allows only 20 minutes in Flam when the place has the stunning Stegastein Viewpoint to be seen. Missing that out is a shame. Otherwise its a well planned trip with clockwork precision. But value for money, I dont fully think so.

    Our group decided to do the Oslo to Oslo tour. It, was, a fast paced. Twenty two hours, but scenery was majestic. Changing trains. Then buses, and ferries. Drivers.. Both train and bus conductors, and, drivers would stop for photo opportunities and beautiful points of interest. We only had two hours, at, Bergen. But this, trip gave us, a, taste, of, Flam, Myrdal and, Bergen. Someday we will go back to Bergen, This trip was, awesome.

    The itinerary was indeed perfect. The cruise was just amazing with the Fjord cruise vessel. Beautiful vessel. Sleeping compartment were a bonus to recuperate from the one the go. Well thought!

    Truly enjoyed Norway in a Nutshell tour- Oslo-Oslo. Tour is very well organised and packed with best places to see if you are pressed on time. Scenery is breathtaking and Fjords are magical. Tour is very well planed and timed. Tour is SELF-GUIDED, do your research before hand because there will be none to explain where to look and what to see. When booking tour make sure to contact tour agency to specify if you want OSLO-OSLO or OSLO-BERGEN!!! Arthur tour agent was very helpful and kept in contact with us through our journey to make sure we don't miss any ferries and busses. Make sure to bring your phone charger or power bank- trains go through high elevation and battery tend to drain very fast.

    Excellent ROLEX TIMED TOUR. Tiring to make it in one 24 hours stretch . The trip back to Oslo is never ending ...7 hours plus. Suggest - if you have time - break it and sleep in Bergen . Scenery outstanding . Ensure your tickets are complete for the group .mistakes can happen. Easy travel in oslo were great in assisting us by phone and whatsapp.

    Adorámos! Uma viagem espectacular com paisagem inesquecível! O comboio Flamsbana e o cruzeiro pelos Fiordes são uma viagem no tempo, onde tudo é mais calmo e lento. A organização foi perfeita. Desde o itinerário, os assentos seleccionados, a disponibilidade de alteração para uma comboio, onde pudémos passar a noite a fim de termos mais tempo em Bergen para dar uma volta à cidade, foi tudo ideal. Essa flexibilidade de alteração, permitiu-nos ter mais tempo para jantar e disfrutar da cidade, que é linda. Um especial agradecimento ao Sr. Arturs, que foi muito atencioso. Sempre pronto para qualquer esclarecimento e teve o trabalho de nos levar os vouchers ao hotel, que ficava bastante longe da cidade. Perfeita organicação! Já tivémos outras actividades organizadas pela Viator, mas esta foi até hoje a melhor.
