Meet your guide and group In front of the Nobel Peace Center, located between Oslo City Hall and Aker Brygge, prior to your departure time of 2pm. Set off through the city on an introductory walking tour, designed to help you make the most of your time.
Start out exploring the Akerhus Fortress, dating from medieval Oslo, and contrast that with the very modern Oslo City Hall, sitting right on the edge of the harbor area. Stop by the Parliament building and the Royal Palace while your guide teaches you a bit about how the Norwegian government and politics work. See the unusual Opera House, the Cathedral, and the National Theatre. You'll also have the opportunity to taste some of the famous Norwegian brunost, or brown cheese.
In a short 2 hours, you'll get an overview of the city and you'll have an idea of where you might want to explore further.
