Our tour guides for the attractions were extremely knowledgeable and conveyed their messages with respect. Our driver, Karol, was excellent.

I learnt so much about the Nazi's treatment of the Jews, it was appalling by any standards. This trip is harrowing but it makes you admire anyone who could survive such an awful period in history. Our tour guide, Juliet, passed on so much information and the tour manager, Michael, was a very helpful young man. The tour does start early, in our case 07:40 and we weren't the first on the coach. The lunch provided was very nice and we could sit at the café outside of Birkenau to eat it. On a much brighter note the Salt Mine was glorious by contrast. The guide was a humorous chap who made the time, about 2 hours, pass very quickly. It's amazing what is down the mine, statues, great illuminated halls and a dragon or two. We got back to Krakow at around 6:30 and you can get dropped off at the Main Square or your hotel so it's very convenient. All in all a very good day out and I'd highly recommend it.

Overall, this was an enjoyable tour, in particular the first part to Auschwitz-Birkenau. While the Salt Mine was also very interesting, following the concentration camp component, it was a bit too much to really enjoy. The English speaking guide for Auschwitz-Birkenau (together with the required Polish-speaking guide at Auschwitz) was excellent. While both parts of this tour were excellent, the visit to Birkenau felt rushed and was more superficial. The Salt Mine was a completely different experience and required extensive walking, down and up many stairs. If we were to do this again, we would not have linked the two parts of this tour - they are very different experiences, they are not even geographically close to each other. While Auschwitz-Birkenau was indeed a moving, somber and enlightening experience, I think the Salt Mine experience is overrated and I would have been fine to have not even gone.

A really good tour, very well organised the guide was excellent she was very informative throughout the auschwitz tour then the birkenau tour. She gave everyone a chance to ask questions if needed but really you didnt need to it was there for all to see.
The lunch was good nothing fancy but did the job. It took about one hour twenty minutes to get to the salt mine, the tour takes about two hours which soon goes at a gentle pace.
The driver had us back at our hotel early evening as planned. I would highly recommend doing both tours in the same day.

This full day trip is really worth doing. The morning was spent in Auschwitz first then on to Birkenau. Our guide for both was exceptional considering where we were. The way she conducted the tour was just right in my opinion, knowledgeable and respectful, setting the right tone. A tour that should not be missed by anyone who has the opportunity to take it. After lunch we went on to a completely different tour, the Salt Mine, again another top guide, Evelyn who told us all about the mine and how the miners created the chapels and figures inside. Two massively different tours in one day, each in their own way worth doing. Escorted all day by Tomasz and thank you to him for taking very good care of us.

A lot of walking, wouldnt suggest it for people with mobility issues. The Auschwitz-Birkenau part was very intense, not for the weak at heart. The Wieliczka Salt Mine was unbelievable and beautiful. The only down side was the sack lunch provided, found not to my taste. They did provide water during the day and with lunch. Would definitely do it again as it was a lot of information to process

This was quite an experience. A somber one like most have said in other reviews, but one every human must see at some point in their life. A long day physically as well as mentally. Make sure to wear running/walking shoes as you will be on your feet a lot!
