Your day's adventure on the Navua River begins with convenient pickup at your Fiji hotel. Pickup times vary according to your hotel's location; the tour departs from Pacific Grove at 10am. Listen to a safety briefing and orientation, then board the jet boat, specially designed to run in very shallow water. Set off for the Navua River, zipping through dramatic gorges, past villages and farms to the waterfalls. Stop to cool off with a swim in the Navua River's largest waterfall, located about an hour's ride up the river. With your guide, explore the various pools and waterfalls in the area, which the tour company has exclusive rights to use from the native owners. Hop on an inflatable rafts for some downriver rafting, after which the jet boat will pick you up for the trip to the native village. Explore the village and learn about the native kava plants and herbal medicines, traditional crops and way of life. Dig in to a barbecue lunch including salad and barbecue fish and chicken.
