My friend and I really enjoyed our Food and Wine walking Tour in Palermo. It was great to try different Sicilian foods. In fact I have never eaten mussels until then, they way in which they were cooked was delicious, they came as part of a sort of an individual tapas plate in the 1st restaurant. The wines we tried on the tour were delicious to, so much so that I could not wait to try more Etna wines after trying one in the second restaurant. The star though was Alex our guide, he was a really lovely guy, so friendly and informative, he made us all feel at ease. If your lucky enough to get him you'll see what I mean. Well worth the money.

I love this tour. We had a fun group of foodies. We went to 3 different restaurants to do food and wine tasting. Great food, great wine and great company.

Rosalie was the most lovely guide ever. She took us to three eateries, with plenty of interesting, tasty samples at each one. First place was where we had mussels 3 of mine were empty, but the ones that were there were great in a garlicky wine sauce. Sardines filled with a variety of things including raisins, were a surprise, and a good one! Orange/caper salad, thin slices of octopus on greens and a very tasty caponata eggplant stew. Rosalie talked about the mix of food traditions, and could describe the cooking process of any food I asked about. Wines were good and plentiful. Second place was at an ancient focaccia bakery. Nice variety of items there, too. We walked through a very cool area, the bucheria, where lots of young people were getting street food from vendors...barbecues, crepes, oysters. It would have been fun to stop there, too. We ended at a pastry shop on a very lovely square, where we had three desserts and three dessert wines. It was a fun night I would recommend to anyone with a slightly adventurous approach to eating.
