Very, very good tour. Guide, Manuela, was exceptional with her knowledge.
Our guides were Stafani and Fabrizio and they were absolutely wonderful. They took an interest in everyone in the group. We walked the streets and learned of Palermo history and culture as we strolled. Our first stop was the street market where the sights, sounds and smell where amazing! We tasting many amazing types of Sicilian food that made your mouth water with explanations of how is is prepared and how the food is specific to the region. During our walk we went into many histoic landmarks with very descriptive explanations on how they were built based on the varying cultures that occupied Sicily in previous times.
We only visited the Capo Market, but got to taste and learn about a lot of the traditional foods and the Arabic influences. If you take a morning tour you may want to skip breakfast as we ate 1/2 hour into our tour. Not only did we learn about food but we continued walking around Palermo leaning about the neighborhoods, cultures and toured a few churches including the Cathedral. This was way more than a food walking tour, we were so happy to have a guide as we saw many of the important sites. Highly recommend!
Great way to see the old part of Palermo, munch on some local street food, with a history lesson thrown in.
Great tour. Guide was fantastic
Exceptional experience! My sister and I took the early bus from Trapani to Palermo for this special tour. There were four total in our group. The guide was wonderful and gave a great description of the food, culture and neighborhoods of Palermo. I speak both English and Italian, but this is appropriate for English-only speakers. Great value for everything you get. Would absolutely recommend.
This was a great tour, our guides were very informative and able to give us history and explanations for all sites. Having a guide through the cathedral was a great help. Next taking us through the markets and explaining each of the street foods we were able to try. We had some time to buy some spices to take home. They took us to a wonderful bakery for cannoli and finally recommended a great restaurant for dinner.
Fabrizio (sp?) was great! Lots of interesting history and great food in the market. A fantastic way to learn about the historic core of Palermo!
We had a great experience with Fabrizio and Tony. I don't think we would've knows about some of the food without this tour. Very knowledgeable and friendly guides. Thank you!
Even though we did this tour in the pouring rain it was really interesting, full of history and the streeet food was very fresh. Well worth the money !
