The tour guide was excellent. Not only that he got permission to drop us in Palm Springs where we were staying instead of going back to Palm desert. Off roading is a really different experience. We rode in the Toyota Sequoia and I am so glad we did. They also have the open jeep which have better view but I don't recommended it, it might be too bumpy. The first half of the trip is on unpaved road and the ride is really bumpy, the second half is on paved road so it was smooth. The un-paved road was fun but I can only handle so much before feeling nauseated, lucky it was only half of the trip. You get to see places that you would normally not venture off to which is really cool. Kolin was our tour driver and he was very knowledgeable about the place. I recommend this tour if your body can handle it. There is also a restroom stop halfway through the trip.

Yes you're right the off-roading Joshua Tree tour is definitely a fun and very bumpy experience! We have a non off-roading option if you ever want a smooth tour of the park, but we're so glad you were able to have a great tour!

Isabel was a great guide and knowledgeable about the area. We got to see a large portion of JTNP that many cannot experience. She even adjusted the ride slightly so we could get a pic with the entrance sign.

Our guide Ben was amazing, sharing so much info about the rock formations, wildlife, and plants in Joshua Tree. We only had one day to see the park so this tour enabled us to see parts of it we would not have seen on our own. Next time we’re in the area we’ll definitely try the tour that includes more hiking.

Isabel was VERY informative, patient and kind. The Jeep was clean and comfortable. The trip was rugged and fun. Isabel stopped whenever we wanted to take pictures and mentioned a personalized tour next time. She went above and beyond and we will 100% request her next time!!!

Our guide -- I think her name was Isabella -- was a real gem: amazingly knowledgeable about the geology, history, flora, and fauna of the area. Her narrative and answers to our questions were not only informative but also entertaining. She was also highly skilled at driving over the rough terrain and attentive to our "creature comforts." A 10 out of 10, and I don't say that very often!

In hindsight I feel it would have been better to see the main part of the park with its curated points of interest. This off road trip was a wild, jarring, long ride to stop at various spots to examine desert plants and geography. The scenery along the way does not significantly change or make you gratified that you reached a particular vista. Children love this jolting ride, no question. However, the amount of knowledge gained about the geology, fauna and flora of the region was somewhat sparse.

Sorry to hear that you had a little regret taking our off road tour to Joshua Tree! There is a definite difference between our driving tour of the park and our off road tour of the park which you correctly pointed out. The driving tour is a highlights tour of the park on smooth roads while our off road tour is a bumpy, rugged tour that gets out guests to a very remote part of the park but doesn't cover nearly as much of the park. We hope you are able to come back and join us for our driving tour of Joshua Tree.

Thank you for the review! Yes our Joshua Tree Off-road Tour can only be in certain sanctioned areas as to not damage the park lands, but still be off-roading in the park. If you ever want to see more of the main sections, we recommend our Joshua Tree Driving Tour! Hopefully we'll see you on a tour again soon!
