What You Can Expect

Rainforest Aerial Tram, Gamboa Tower and Forest Exhibitions Day Trip from Panama City

Gamboa Aerial Tram, Tower and Exhibition

Discover nature from the sky and ground on this 6-hour tour, starting with hotel pickup from Panama City. After a 45-minute scenic drive to Gamboa — gateway to the Panama Canal — you'll arrive at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. Here, hop aboard the aerial tram for a 1-mile (1.6-km) ride through the tropical rainforest canopy.
During your tram tour, which ascends 280 feet (85 meters) to the Gamboa observation tower, listen for diverse birdlife and the unmistakable call of howler monkeys. When you reach your treetops destination, enjoy phenomenal aerial views of the lush forest flora.

Afterward, visit the animal exhibition area. See snakes safely on display in their terrariums and marvel at the butterfly exhibit and nursery, where an educational guide explains the life cycle of the mariposa from egg to caterpillar to winged insect. In the aquarium, view colorful freshwater fish and reptiles such as crocodiles, caimans and turtles.

Finally, visit the Embera Indigenous Village, a model village with replica thatched-roof homes. Learn about the customs of the forest-dwelling Embera who raise and sell plantains and bananas to support their riverside lifestyle.

Your tour ends with returns transport to Panama City and drop-off at your hotel.
