Don’t pass up the opportunity to visit the Panama Canal during your layover at Tocumen International Airport. This half-day tour with a private guide provides you with flexibility to explore the sights at your own pace. Stroll past Spanish-colonial architecture on the narrow streets of Casco Antiguo (Old Quarter) and also see the modern side of the city.
4-hour Panama City layover tour from Tocumen International Airport
Dan really knows the city of Panama. He took us to a nice place to eat overlooking the Canal. Took us to the man made islands, the old and restored part of town. Great architecture and history. Dan is a great guide, I will use him again.
I had a 6 hour layover in Panama between 6 am and 12:20 pm on a weekday. I was not sure if this was enough time to leave the airport and look around, but in my online research, I kept running into Viator and its good reviews. I totally agree! I booked the layover tour, and Louise from Safe Transportation Panama waited for me at the airport and drove me around to show me the city and the canal. He was a wonderful English language tour-guide. The only con is that you have to book for a minimum of 2 persons.
Cesear was a very knowledge and entertaining guide. Although there was confusion about the pick up time, after one phone call he was right there and ready to go. I would definitely recommend the lay over tour and having Cesear as the guide.
This tour was amazing. Luis, our guide, went above and beyond what the tour description offered, and we were pleasantly surprised. He offered to take us to the Pedro Miguel locks after the Miraflores Locks Panama Canal, took us to Panama Viejo in addition to Casco Viejo, drove us along the Bridge of the Americas and took us to a wonderful viewing point of the bridge and the port, and offered to give us extra time at the Punta Culebra Nature Center. We had extra time since we weren't in a rush to get to the airport, so were grateful for the extra tour of the city. We highly recommend this tour and Luis!
