  • Informative and friendly guide
  • Plenty of photo opportunities

Discover the natural wonders of Tahiti on this inner-island safari tour by 4WD vehicle. After your guide picks you up from your hotel in downtown Papeete or at the wharf, hop into the Jeep for a thrilling ride — traversing rough roads best accessed by a 4x4 vehicle.
Make your first stop at Mount Marau, a former 19th-century French fortress. Treat yourself to a gorgeous vista of the lush, rainforest-clad Punaruu Valley and snap photos of the island's highest peaks: Orohena, Aorai, Tetufera and Teamaa.
Your tour continues to the Arahoho Blowhole, an unmarked roadside attraction created over eons by liquid lava, when battering surf undercut the basalt shoreline and eroded a tunnel-like passageway. When large waves crash into the rocks, watch in awe as a geyser-like plume of seawater shoots into the air and sprays onlookers.
Check out the local surfers and the black-sand beach before re-boarding the Jeep. You’ll enter to the Faaurumai Valley near Tahiti’s north coast to visit the three waterfalls of the Cascades of Faarumai — nestled in nearly impenetrable rainforest of hutu and mape trees. It’s an easy 5-minute walk to Vaimahutu Falls, which plunges 100 feet (30 meters) into a crystal-clear pool below.
Follow your guide along a 20-minute rainforest walk to reach the other two cascades, Haamaremare Iti and Haamaremare Rahi, and spend time at the final waterfall with a refreshing swim if you’d like. Back in your 4WD vehicle, make the return trip to Papeete where your full-day tour ends.

The trip mediocre. No water was provided on an 8 hr trip. Lunch wasn't included and the restaurant didn't take credit cards which we did not know up front. The driver basically put everyone in the back of a truck. Drove to a couple of places with no dialogue on travel.. The driver was friendly and informative when he wasn't driving. The scenery was nice.

The tour was nice but way too long. Should have booked the half-day tour.

The view of the island is beautifull and interesting. However, we never really learned much else regarding information and I was slightly disappointed in the guide.

Wow what a day Augustine our driver was terrific. It was a great trip seeing the jungle and many beautiful waterfalls and luckily an amazing rainbow. It was terrific to c such a different aspect after seeing so many wonderful fish and beaches. This trip is not for the fainthearted as the road is a real adventure. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

First, take plenty of bug spray. The trip was much more rough going than we thought. At the start the guide was not that helpful as I asked him what were we likely to see, his response was trees, really informative ?

Anyway, he got a bit better with information to the point we could not shut him up, but with his french/tahitian accent it was hard to understand much of what he said.

The trip was 9 hours, scenery quite spectacular, but this trip is not for the faint heated as some of the inclines were 21degrees and quite slippery. The humidity was also quite high, so if you sweat a lot take a towel, which you will need if you elect to swim at the swim spot and also take some reef shoes or something you dont mind getting wet.

The trip is actually far too long, but it takes quite a time to travel the distance.

The trip information gives no advice about lunch, it is not included, so we packed some sandwiches expecting the worst. Lunch was a stop at a rundown hotel on top of the mountains. Thus, you could buy some lunch. They had set up a table for our group, but as we had our sandwiches they advised we could sit at this table to eat our sandwiches but we had to pay 400 franks each to sit at the table. We told them to shove it and walked to the other side of the hotel and sat at an outdoor setting with great views and ate our sandwiche with somewhat of a sour taste in our mouths. When are these people ever going to learn about hospitality.

Would we do it again, yes for the scenery, but no for everything else.

The guide was good but could have talked more about what we were seeing. We also wanted to stop more at different stops and swim.We passed a few nice places where people were swimming. when i asked he said the weather wasn't good for swimming. Although weather was't the greatest raining on and off. We wanted to swim. We all had our suits on and it was listed in the tour that we would swim at a waterfall.

Excellent trip. Beautiful scenery and lot of water falls to observe. Only draw back was the lunch. It was not good. No one in our group could finish their lunch because it was that bad. Beer was good.
