Educational and not too long. Back in Paphos around 16:00. We had 2 guides, english and russian speakers and as we understand both languages we got a little more than others. Great!

A good day out from Paphos

Our coach was packed full with English and Russian speaking passengers. So there were 2 separate guides. But the trip was well organised. Our English speaking guide Adriana was great and was clear in her instructions about where and when to meet up after our stops. Hence everyone was on time. I particularly like the fact that we stopped first at Aphrodites Rock, followed by Kourion and Kolossi Castle en route to Limassol. We had enough time at each of these locations. I am glad that we had 3 hours at Limassol to have a leisurely lunch and then went straight back to Paphos. Special thanks to Adriana and our driver George who drove carefully and smoothly.

So..after the highs of my Famagusta tour I did this and wow the difference was noticeable. Host joined the coach part way through and this was unhelpful because we had an issue where a grown couple who got on later wanted to sit together which lead to a mini standoff – this started the day off on the wrong note. The guide (Adriana) boarded near the end of the pick ups and from the off seemed a little disorganised. Maybe Ruslan need to ensure that a guide is on the coach from first pick ups (just a suggestion). I felt that though most of the information given was useful, it felt very scripted so it wasn’t overly engaging and it was information overload and she talked too much. The day itself was just okay, it would have been good if there was set up where there’s a deal with a local restaurant just in order to maximise your time in Limassol. It’s hard not to compare to the Famagusta/Troodos tours when they were amazing but something was lacking. Yes we got information/shown around but it felt like it was a chore and that she wasn’t that interested. If your guide doesn’t have the energy you’ve already lost your audience. On the way back we stopped at Aphrodite’s rock and got stuck in the mud… but again things like this happen and yea there were a few grumbles in the group (it was a rainy day etc) but how your guide handles this is important. There were points when we were on / off the coach (a 4 x4 tried to help before the JCB arrived), some got back on the coach and a group didn’t. Given we were not on the coach, one person from our group went for the first time to get an update – the response she received was “ do you expect it to fly, it’s on its way”…that’s out of order. If we had been pestering I understand but it was the first time we asked given we were not on the coach. There is also no way she could have confused the person asking with anyone as there were only two of us who were black! She was very flustered by it all but ultimately you’re the tour guide and it’s your job to maintain a cool head in situations like this. Ruslan dealt with it the best the they could; a new coach was dispatched quickly <1hr but the lead guides whole attitude on the day – wouldn’t recommend if she was leading. Once we were on our way – limited information given (“ok if you came on a minibus you’ll be dropped off”). She disembarked where she got on and left the Russian guide and driver to sort it out. Ruslan you run good tours but some staff let you down

A good itinerary, good price but not enough free time at Kourion or Limassol. After the guide explained about the exploration of the Kourion site, which was needed and welcomed we only got 20 mins to look around, take photos and use the facilities. Unlike the monastery and Kolossi castle where we had too much time and you could see coach passengers just aimlessly wandering or just sat waiting to get on the coach. We arrived at Limassol at 12.45pm for some reason despite the guide watch being the same as mines and other passengers everywhere else, she said it was 12.50pm and then by the time everyone got off coach and waited it was 12.55pm, we were told to get back to the coach for 2.45pm so the 3 hours we were originally told immediately reduced, I did comment to her about this, but it made no diference. What tour guides seem to forget is that you're in a big place and you have to allow yourself time to get back and will allow say 10 mins more as you don't want to be late so any other reduction makes a big difference. I wasn't the only one who thought this and this was discussed when getting back on the coach later. Limassol has a old castle, shops, large promenade and marina/harbour unfortunately due to time couldn't see everything but would go back. We had a stop at Aphrodite's Rock on the way back to Paphos, ironically 45 mins to look at a rock, no-one on the coach went swimming. It would been a great tour if the times at attractions could be adjusted

Average tour, the medieval theme park was a let down apart from the archery although I got a lovely big bruise on my arm but still enjoyed trying it out.
