Vincent was a very knowledgeable guide and it was an added bonus that he was a native Frenchman.
Great tour...the tour guide was sensational, friendly, extremely knowledgeable and passionate...we would not have gotten half the enjoyment without her on the tour.
Our recent trip to Paris included a day long visit to Versailles and that was a highlight of our wonderful week long sojourn to France. While the price tag initially seemed a tad spendy when I purchased our tickets, it was worth every penny...and then some! Our guide-Nadia (not sure if I am spelling her name correctly?) picked us up at our hotel and was VERY personable and knowledgeable about the areas we passed to and fro Versailles and of course Versailles itself. Plus she had an excellent sense of humor! The day had an excellent sense of flow to it and there was ample time for a bit of on our own exploring and questions in addition to the history that Nadia related to us. Our small group size was perfect (there were nine of us, including Nadia) and a lovely time was had at lunch discussing topics from A-Z. I can not say enough positive things about this tour and would recommend it to anyone wanting a bit more of an indepth experience at Versailles. Thank you Viator and Nadia!
What a wonderful day! Our guide was professional and very nice; and she knows so much about Versailles! I would strongly recommend the all day tour because the palace is cetainly beautiful, but the rest of the grounds are also worth seeing: the Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, and the Queen's Hamlet. I think I actually enjoyed those more.
It was all we expected of a day at Versailles with time to view the gardens, the hamlet of Marie Antoinette, and a wonderful lunch on the grounds. We had a very knowledgeable guide, Lucille, who not only delved into the history of the Palace, the Grand Trianon as well as the Petit Trianon, but gave us many vignettes of the lives of the people involved. It was a small group of 5 so we had plenty of attention and time to ask questions. The minivan was comfortable and on time.
I loved this tour. The guide was friendly and excellent and because it was only a small group we did not have to put up with people being late back and waiting around for them as so often happens. The second part was wonderful going to visit the Trianons.
What can you say about the Palace of Versailles? We were there first thing in the morning, and the lines were already huge, and we were there at Christmas in the freezing cold. Thank god for skip the line! The opulence lived up to its reputation. The lunch was fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it from the wine to the surroundings, the visit to the Queens hamlet was also great, it is a shame that it is decaying so badly and not seeming to be rescued anytime in the future. It will be a huge historical loss if it goes. great tour and would highly recommend.
My guide was FANTASTIC. She was so personable and friendly. Her knowledge of the Palace, history and stories made the trip. I felt like I had known her forever. She had a good sense of humor and clearly enjoyed doing her job. It made the entire experience so much better than just having a tour guide. Versailles was crowded beyond belief but we maneuvered our way around and had a great tour. I would recommend doing this to anyone who asked.
Great guide, great tour. Everything worked very well. Food in resto ok, nothing special but environment even on a rainy day was excellent.
Everything went perfectly (including the weather!). Car in time, the 2 of us were joined by one other client who proved to be lovely company. Our driver/guide was great, he was extremely nice and informative without being obtrusive. Food in Versailles restaurant just about passable but you can't be blamed for that! Quite an expensive trip but very well worth it. Thanks.
We did the day trip to Versailles. It was great just a small group of 6 including ourselves. The tour guide Francis was very knowledgable and Versailles itself was unbelievable. The lunch supplied in the grounds at a restaurant was very good and as with all french wine amazing. We had a lovely time and would thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to jump the queues and see the best of Versailles with a small group.
I had been to the Palace of Versailles before, not on a tour. This is the only way to go. Picked up our hotel by a knowable guide, ushered passed the long lines and guided through the Palace and into some areas that the general public does not see. Expensive, but worth it.
Our guide Vincent was really awesome. A great tour, gorgeous palace. Highly recommended.
