We enjoyed ourselves very much on our day trip to Brugges. It was overcast and rainy on our day there but we were still able to wander around, shop and have lunch. It would have been nice to have more time in the city, but with the length of the bus ride back and forth to Paris, it's understandable. I would very much enjoy going back!
Our tour guide is Serge and he is an awesome guide. I took the tour alone end of October as my cousins erroneously booked in a different tour so we just met in Brugge. There are only 5 of us in the group, 4 of which is Spanish speaking and I can only understand a little bit of it but Serge still translates most of it in English. Being in a small group it is easier to manage and we made it according to schedule. We arrive early and was able to take good pictures before the crowd thickens. Another plus is that this is cheaper than the other tour that my cousins went to but that this is more exclusive thus we have more time to appreciate the place considering the travel time from Paris took 4 hours. I would definitely recommend this tour.
Awesome day with a great driver and guide. Our guide, Antoine, was also the driver of the mini van that took just 7 of us on this day trip to the beautiful city. He was very knowledgeable about the place and other places along the way. He gave a short tour of the Main Street area, where he left us to explore and have lunch on our own. The tour includes a 30 minute boat ride in the canals. Truly enjoyed this visit.
A very interesting tour, well-organised and presented. Free time was preceded by information on how we might like to spend it. The guides were helpful and knowledgeable, making it all an enjoyable experience.
LINDA A USA
well worth the time and money...a must day trip for anyone
Enjoyed the day very much, would have been much better if it had not rained so much.
The coach was comfortable and although long we were allowed breaks. Bruges was interesting and the guide provided highlights of the town before we set off on our own
We had a wonderful day visiting Bruges. Although it rained all the way from Paris, our guide handled the driving very calmly. We were supplied umbrellas when we boarded the boat for our river cruise, but fortunately the weather cleared and we had an enjoyable trip, viewing the gorgeous old buildings. It was so hard to choose which chocolates to purchase from the many chocolate shops. Plenty of gift shops and restaurants also. Road works in Belgium contributed to a lengthy trip home. A trip to remember.
Excellent tour and I fell in love with Bruges.
Was a small group of 8 people and the driver was good
This was great! Our guide was great. Knowledgeable and full of personality. Long ride and wish we had a little more time in Bruges but all in all a great tour. Also it was a small group so that always makes it great.
It was an excellent tour, well organized. Bruges is a very beautiful city, dont miss it.
Excellent tour, guide very informative. Free time was ample to explore the area and get a taste to see if iit was, worth returning. Beautiful town to visit.
Highly recommended .
This is such a beautiful place! It was worth the time it took to get there. Our guide was very good too. My only wish was that we had more time alone to explore and shop before having to head back. It is a long day but was still a day well spent
The Guide was very professional and informative, timing was distributed reasonably and Brugge is a fantastic city! Definitely would recommend the tour!
Bruges is a lovely place.... must do's include a boat ride, shopping for Belgian chocolates and feasting on mussels and Belgian waffles!
Sadly it was rainy. : Beautiful city and interesting history. Our guide, Armando, was pleasant, but could have done a better job. He didn't show us where any restrooms were located, and as we walked along, allowed the group to get separated. At the end of the day he left the meeting place without one passenger. He only waited 5 minutes. Really bad! Fortunately, the passenger was able to find her way to the bus, but she and her group, were practically hysterical. Armando could have handled it MUCH better.
The time in Bruges was terrific. We had a great lunch and found some wonderful shops. The other parts of the trip were not up to you usual high standards. The bus was very uncomfortable. There was not enough room for the legs of people over about 5'10. And for short people, like me, my feet didn't reach the floor there was no foot rest. I used my husband's back pack. The guide appeared to be fairly new and needs some improvement. She walks WAY too fast. The group got strung out and exhausted following her, It was not her fault that we couldn't really hear her the guide needs a mic for a group this large. But, when we could hear her, she talked way too fast. I couldn't always get the instructions even in English. Also, it wasn't good that there were no boats available for the canal cruise. That wasn't the guide's fault either and there didn't seem to be a fall back position. Her solution was to give every one a ticket and tell them to do the cruise on their own. OK with us we didn't really care about the cruise. But what about others? I think that was the best she could do, but please don't say there is a cruise if it's not a sure thing. A better bus and better training for the guide would have made the trip good all the way around. My suggestions are as follows: get a better bus for such a long time. Allow longer breaks on the road. Take a smaller group so the guide has some possibility of actually guiding and maybe provide a mic. Give young and inexperienced guides more training and don't put less experienced guides in such a difficult position.
Well we would have liked a little more free time in Bruges. But didn't feel the next tour was worth the extra cost for just an hour more of trip. I would not have minded returning to Paris later. Andrea
Well done but recommended for making your significant other happygirl thing. However great chocolates!
Our guide was wonderful. Bruges is a beautiful city. It is a very long ride in a car for 4 hours . There is a quick boat ride with the history of the city and then you only have a few hours to get lunch and possibly a quick trip to maybe 1 museum.
Bruge is a warm and small flemish city and it was definitely worth the visit. I highly recommend a tour of de haave maan microbrewery, which includes a walk on the rooftop with a fantastic view and great local beer at the end!! I wish we had more than 3.5 hours in Bruge though.
Bruge city itself is lovely despite the weather!. We would have appreciated if the tour guide had given us some commentary on the countryside as we were driving the 4 hours each way. It doesn't have to be non stop, but it would be nice to know where we were when we were crossing into Belgium, what is growing in the fields etc etc. There is not much time left to explore on your own once you do the boat tour and then have lunch, so would suggest that people bring some sandwiches or something if you want to spend your time exploring Brugge rather than sitting at a restaurant waiting for food. Also on the drive back some commentary about what we are driving past would have been much appreciated rather than 4 hours of silence.
