This was an amazing day trip from Paris. We live in the wine country in Oregon but had never learned about the process to make champagne. This was all new learning for us especially about the second fermentation process. Lunch was at a very quaint old mill restaurant. The tour was very informative and well worth the time.
So happy we took this tour. Our guide, Herbert, was super! He was a very careful driver and kept us informed and entertained the whole day. The restaurant lunch was delicious. Obviously, we enjoyed the Moet and Chandonne tour, and the tastings there, and at the local champagne maker. The stop at Reims cathedral was so memorable. We also got to make a stop for coffee and a pastry about middle of the morning near the cathedral. Highly recommend doing this if you have the opportunity!
We had great time and great guide. She was helpful and informative
Moet and Chandon was a real treat along with the small champagne house we stopped at. Would love to go back during the summer.
Natasha, our tour guide for the day helped our group of Americans enjoy the Champagne region. We were four couples, strangers at the start, but with our visit to Reims, Moet and Chandon, shared lunch at Le Cave and visit with tasting at Laval Louis, we became world travelers with an enjoyable shared experience. The country is beautiful. I truly recommend venturing out, meeting new people and enjoy champagne.
Our guide, Herbert, picked us up at our hotel exactly on time. After one more pickup point, our tour began with a two hour drive to Reims, where we had a short breakfast stop at a wonderful pastry shop close to the cathedral. After a a quick run through the cathedral, we were off to Epernay to see the vineyards and the house of Moet and Chandon on Champagne Avenue, where we were given a tour of the cellar caves and a champagne tasting. Lastly, we stopped at a very small family operated winery for a tour of their production facility and caves, plus a tasting. On the drive back to Paris, Herbert gave us some historical background on the region, which was a major battleground during WWI. We past several military cemeteries from the war. For me, the most interesting part of the day's experience was learning about all the stringent controls and regulations involved in producing champagne.
Unfortunately it was raining, however we enjoyed the tour and visited many interesting sites
Had a great time. The guide and the other four people on the tour were great fun. Really enjoyed the tour of Moet Chandon and the Cathedral. High light though was the small champagne producers.
Enjoyed the tour with great wine tasting etc.
Absolutely outstanding experience. Hotel pick up and drop off was much appreciated. Visited large producers as well as a fantastic small grower. Great experience!
