Well organized, enjoyed the sights very much. It was mostly transport between the sights and then you do a tour with audioguide. Definitely worth it.
Taking the coach bus from Viator to Chateaux de Fontainebleau and Vaux le Vicomte Day trip from Paris was easy and a pleasure. Both palaces are worth visiting, and have lots of furniture to view. The audio guides are included in the tour, and are a great way to explore. We did not want to drive from Paris, and the coach bus was so convenient. Clean, air conditioned and on time were all highlights.
Visiting the two palaces was amazing. Be sure to pay the extra fee and go up to the roof top for the view at Vaux Le Vicomte, if you are able to manage stairs easily. We chose to visit these two palaces instead of Versaille. There were no crowds and the tour offers plenty of time to see both palaces.
Bring snacks, although there is some food available on site.
Fabulous day out exploring French Castles. I highly recommend this trip.
As a fan of the TV show Versailles it was awesome to see the interiors used at Vaux le Vicomte, and the beautiful costumes. The option to go up on the Chateaux's dome was the highlight. There were many choices for lunch and they had a great gift shop. Fontainebleau was huge and beautiful.
I really enjoyed this trip to Chateaux de Fontsinbleau and Vaux le Vicomte from Paris. Both locations were not overly loaded with large numbers of tourists. Hence, this trip is enjoyable.
quality bus and driver plus enough time to explore on our own. Just the tour we wanted! S. and S.McC.
Its always a pleasure to visit these two chateaus. This is my third time here but their beauty still captivates me. So much history and attention to detail were put into these noble homes. Like a fairytale! Roam their beautiful gardens for a relaxing stroll.
Great tour! Plenty of time to explore les chateaux. We had two kids ages 10 and 4 and worried that they would get bored, but they did fine because they had a chance to run around the beautiful gardens.
Excellent day out. Very special places where so much history was made. You won't regret the visits! Peter M.
Both of these chateaus are worth visiting and it was great to have self-guided audio device to allow one to move at their own pace.
We were a group of 4 and we enjoyed the tour. We loved Vaux le Vicomte - no crowds at all plenty to see including the carriage collection
Had a nice lunch here.
Fontainebleau is amazing on the inside but they need to fix there entrance signs. We and almost everyone else missed the entrance and had to keep looking for it. Guide was nice and we liked the fact that you were on your own for the most part
Amazing but the lack of a guide was a hindering factor for me! But definitely a must if you go to Paris
We really enjoyed Chateaux de Fountainebleau and Vaux le Vicomte Day Trip from Paris. Vaux le Vicomte was the first Chateau visited and it was filled with many interesting facts. It was my first visit there and I could have stayed there all day. The Chateau is full of so many beautiful period things and be sure to listen closely for a story behind each room. Save time to visit the gardens it is large, so be prepared to walk, observe and take many pictures.
Chateau de Fontainebleau was the second part of the day tour. Although I had visited this Chateaux many years ago, it is still beautiful, so it brought back many good memories. Here the grounds are wonderful to behold after the interior of the Chateau. Go for a stroll around the lake for it is very park-like.
The bus trip was comfortable and relaxing. Everyone was cordial and most importantly, the bus driver was efficient ! We returned to Paris safely around 18H00.
Both Castles were excellent, but the Vaux le Vicomte was new to me and the history behind it, that I discovered during the tour was very interesting!
Words cannot describe how beautiful these two places were. Instagram-worthy photos
This is a great tour of both castles. About an hour bus ride. I would not attempt to take trains and buses to get here, just get on the bus and let the driver do all the work. Our bus had an issue with the A/C not working at full capacity so it was a little warm on the way back. Also, an accident on the highway, so trip back was 1.5 hours. That was something that couldn't be helped.
First stop was the Vaux le Vicomte. You will get caught up in the interior. Make sure to save time to walk the grounds, which are spectacular. There is only one place to eat, but the food was very good. A little pricey, but you're in Paris!
Rent the audio for this tour. There are no tour guides for either of these places.
Second stop about 20 minutes away. I loved this place! Could have used more time here, although they allot 3 hours. What I didn't know is that the town itself is beautiful! Next time I would stay over night and explore the town. The castle is gorgeous! My recommendation is to skip Versailles altogether and go to Fontainbleau instead . Versailles is so crowed at all times you cannot enjoy it. People on our bus had been the day before and were not happy with the crowds at Versailles.
Fontainbleu is just as beautiful and no crowds. There were times we had a whole room to yourself. Your mouth will drop when you walk thru this place. Words cannot describe the opulence. No need to get the audio on this one, as there are descriptions all along the way and you can actually stop and read them.
Only recommendation is to go Monday thru Thursday. We went on a Friday and we returned at rush hour. Just like at home, not a good idea!
I liked that the trip was very simple: a nice motorcoach, admission tickets, and listening devices at each chateau for narration. The bus left ontime from all stops. We were given an itinerary when we checked in for the tour so we all knew what time to be back for boarding the bus. We packed a lunch to eat at the first chateau, but we checked out the menu and it was very reasonably priced. We wished we would have brought a snack from home, too, because we didn't return back to the Viator office until 7 PM due to a traffic accident with injuries on the highway. The tour was perfect for us because it would have otherwise been very time-consuming to plan and use buses and trains to find the chateaux. Note that this tour does not include a tour guide, but none was needed.
This was a great tour. It was well handled and full of beautiful sights. The two chateaux were lovely, especially Fountainbleau. There was plenty of time to enjoy the grounds, grab a bite, and walk the gardens. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. The price was very good for a full day of enjoyment.
Great tour!!! Very informative visit to 2 fabulous chateaux!!!
Excellent guides added to experience!!! Near to Paris and shouldn't be missed!!!
