Our guide, Caroline, was wonderful. Her knowledge of the cheese making and aging process was a great learning experience. She took the time to teach us how to taste the cheese on its own, and then how to really enjoy the cheese with the wine. Coming from the United States where everything is pasteurized, even the cheese, we really enjoyed tasting the different layer of flavors in the cheese, and wine. We came away with a great appreciation of the cheese making process. Enjoyed every minute of it.

Our tour guide was wonderful!! I tried writing a review just after our tour in September but the link did not work!
We have been to Paris 8 times and had other cheese tours but there is something special about being in a cheese cellar that added to the experience. The shop was excellent along with the cheeses!! We learned so much!!

We arrived on a Thursday morning and did this tour that afternoon. Even as jet-lagged as we were, the Metro was easy to navigate, and Paroles de Fromagers the language of cheese, I think shop was easy to find. Our guide was Caroline, an utterly charming young woman with an encyclopedic knowledge of cheese and wine, who proceeded to introduce us to an entirely unknown world of cheese, what it is and how to appreciate it. This tour was terrific! I brought back about a pound of cantel cheese a new discovery to me and I'll be really sorry when it's gone! At the end of our tour, we actually got treated to an impromptu butter tasting. Nearly a dozen different artisanal butters, fresh churned with different spice mixes. The maple pepper was my favorite. Merci beaucoup, Caroline!

Very good workshop where we could learn how to properly try various cheese pairing with wines. Pierre is fantastic and told us all we needed to know about French cheeses and wines. We learned a lot about this typical French food. Definitely a must!

Great cheese tutorial and fantastic guide who truly loved her work. Very educational and a fun excursion like none I'd done before. Much more about the cheese than the wine.

Pierre was amazingly informed about how cheese is made, prepared and eaten with wine of course. Lots of practical ideas about tasting that were quite new to me. He had good pictures to go with his talk. Highly recommended.

I don't know if this is truly 5 stars, but i felt that giving it 4 stars would be a bigger transgression. Our guide was energetic and knowledgeable. The couples with us were all fun to be around. It met my expectations which were only moderate. I can honestly say when I'm eating cheese outside of Kraft singles, I often think back of how to properly admire and taste cheese. LOL.
Really good experience. I would recommend it to people who are curious.

Awesome cheese tasting from a knowledgeable guide. Would highly recommend to learn about the different types of cheeses made in France. We sampled 7 different cheeses and then had some wine paired with them, along with some fruit and bread. I did this in the afternoon and it was a great snack before heading out to dinner later.

Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the tour was small just myself and my husband. The cheese was wonderful and as I am expecting and unable to partake in certain cheeses as well as the wine, they accommodated accordingly. I would take this tour with our guide again and again!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Paris. Located in a nice neighborhood with lots of shops and cafes, the cheese shop was easy to find and the cellar is just beneath the shop. Pierre, who leads the tasting, was very knowledgable, generous and made the experience worthwhile. It was educational and fun and we left appreciating cheese in a whole new way. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves cheese and wine. Merci beaucoup Pierre!

First time cheese tasting. Even though I'm not a big cheese fan, our tour guide Pierre who has a keen gift for describing cheeses did an excellent job of making this an enjoyable experience. Since this takes place in the cheese store, it is more oriented towards cheeses than wines. However, Pierre did a good job of incorporating the wine into the cheese. I swear, I tried the same cheese three times using different methods, and it tasted different every time! This tour is definitely worth the price.

This experience was all it promised and more. Pierre, who leads the event, is passionate and knowledgeable and that makes the tour and tasting worthwhile. We were gad to have a proper introduction not only to seven of the hundreds of French cheeses but also, how to approach the rest of them. We enjoyed the individual cheeses and the pairings. Highly recommended for foodies!

This was a FABULOUS thing to do while in Paris! I am so thankful for having gotten this tip. Mr. Pierre Brisson was so educational, so informative, so generous and so welcoming to our small group. He was generous with his time, with his knowledge, and with the tastings. I've been to Paris many times but this is the first time that I have participated in such an activity. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anyone travelling to Paris. I also appreciate that we were a small group. It was really memorable and I learned a lot. Merci Pierre!

Pierre was a great host. Seeing inside the 1700s cellar and the modern cheese room was fantastic. Rows of different cheeses, just fascinating, hearing the stories of the cheese makers and then tasting their cheeses just made it all the more special. I'd recommend this to anyone who loves their cheese, their wine, or wants to experience a little of unique Paris.

I just wrote this review and it looks like Viator deleted it when I signed in, oh well - round two: This is a great thing to do for anyone who loves cheese. I am a chef and learned a lot about the process of cheese making as well as cheese tasting which I did not know was a practice much like wine tasting. The tour starts in front of a quaint cheese shop in what seems to be a very busy and non touristy part of town. Our guide Pierre introduced himself to our group of 8 and gave a brief overview. Then we stepped into the back of the building and down into the cheese cellar watch you step and if you're tall your head as well. Pierre explained the process of how cream and butter used to be derived using some old mechanical devices very cool. After we stepped into the dimly lit, high humidity cheese aging cooler where the process of cheese aging was explained in detail. We stepped back into the main cellar and sat down to learn how to properly taste 6 cheeses as well as 2 wines that came from Pierre's family vineyard which he used to work on before getting into cheese. This was a very delicious and educational event and our guide was knowledgeable and very friendly. At the end of the tasting we were invited to eat the remaining cheese. If you have room after there is a cool food hall behind the cheese shop.

This was an amazing experience. Pierre's passion and knowledge is unmatched. He took the time to provide the historical context on not just the industry but that particular location as well. His attention to historical detail coupled with the location made me feel like I was a part of the team! The visit to the cellar, the detailed explanations of the various processes and cheeses, the impact of location down to the specificity around how to properly taste, made this tour was worth every penny and more!

This was an awesome experience and something different to do in Paris. Pierre was both knowledgable and passionate about cheese and wine and his experience made our tasting more enjoyable. We didn't like every cheese, but we learned a lot. I would recommend this to anyone who is visiting Paris.
