Spend a day exploring the picturesque Belgian town of Bruges on a day trip from Paris. This canal-filled city has the well-earned nickname of Little Venice of the North, and it also happens to have an incredibly well-preserved historic town center. Enjoy a guided walking tour, plus free time to see the town on your own.
  • Day trip from Paris to Bruges
  • Guided walking tour of Bruges' beautiful medieval center
  • Get free time to shop or visit museums
  • Enjoy a canal cruise (April to October only)
  • Round-trip transport from France to Belgium included
Board an air-conditioned coach in Paris for the scenic drive into Belgium through the northern part of France. Bruges sits in northern Belgium, near the North Sea, in the region known as Flanders.

Despite the history of war in this area, the medieval center of Bruges is amazingly well-preserved—so much so that the historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your visit to Bruges begins with a guided walking tour of the charming Medieval center, including ornately decorated buildings, the Saint-Sang Basilica on Place du Bourg, the Beguine Convent, the Gothic City Hall, and the 12th-century Markt Square with its iconic bell tower.

After the walking tour, take a brief canal cruise (for summer visits from April to October) to see this charming city from the water, followed by free time to explore Bruges on your own. (Visitors during the rest of the year go straight from the walking tour to leisure time in Bruges.) Take advantage of your free time to see Flemish art museums, shops selling handmade lace, or enticing Belgian chocolate shops.

Your tour ends with a ride back to Paris.

We had a wonderful time in Bruges. Is a very beautiful and magical place. The tribe was comfortable and allowed for a little napping pre and post trip. Bruges is full of amazing history and very tasty food. I highly recommend the Belgium waffles as we had 2 during our short stay. There are more shops and you can even imagine. It is a picturesque town.

if getting off the bus; taking off running and having the same tour guide translating into 3 languages is for you... this is the tour to take ....not to mention the map provided will direct you to the wrong pick up location.Bruge is beautiful and interesting....Flemish stew delicious...bus seats rather tight and comfortable...but the mid-evil town is worth it!

I wish I remembered our guide's name because she was very good. It's a long bus ride each way, but the time went surprisingly fast. I wish the wifi had worked all of the time. It didn't. I had seen Bruges before. My companion had not. She thought it was well worth spending an entire day taking this tour. Bruges is pretty darn special.

Bruges is a very nice town but all the trip wasn’t worth it. First the trip with the bus is very long one, second the guide who speak 3 language in the same time get you confused in the end of the Day, third when you arrive to Bruges you have 4 hours to eat, visit wait for the boat river cruise and if you are lucky visit museum !!! So in the end too long not worth it.

The guide was fabulous. She was very informative and thoughtful. The day was very long on the bus, but she kept us informed of what to expect.

Bruges is a lovely city worth a visit but makes for a very long day trip from Paris. More than 8 hours on the bus and only about 4 hours total time to enjoy the town. Guides and bus drivers were great but I would like to see an hour of time added at the end to have more time to take on all the sites, shopping and food. Waffles dipped in chocolate were amazing!

Loved the tour.

Bruges is a beautiful city. Our tour guide was excellent. The only thing I would change is the amount of time spend in the city. We only have like 3 hours to have lunch, do some shopping and see the city. There was no enough time to take the canal tour.

Let's call this the tour from hell. We had booked numerous tours with this particular vendor, City Vision Tours, and the others went off without a hitch. This one, however, could not have gone much worse. First, the guide was terrible. She provided little background information on Bruges, and gave no guidance as to decent places to eat, visit, etc. you are on your own for all but the first 20 minutes. We heard 4 or 5 different languages, none of which we speak, so it was even more difficult to navigate. We were to be back to the bus by 4:15 for departure. My wife and I decided to make our way back to the bus on our own we could have met the guide at a pre-determined location at 3:55, but sadly did not. Fatal mistake. We got lost getting back to the bus, and it took some time to figure out which way to go. Then my wife fell and hurt her ankle. Now we were getting close to 4:15 and we still had a way to go. When I saw we were not going to make it on time, I tried calling the tour company. Now, remember, this was at 4:15 in the afternoon. I could not get anyone to answer. I would call and choose an option, only to have it ring for a while, then say no one was available and to call back another time. I kept calling while walking, with same result each time. We finally made it to the bus parking lot at 4:28pm, to see the bus pulling out of the parking lot onto the main road. I tried to flag them down, to no avail. At that moment, I got through to someone on the phone, but he refused to even contact the bus to get them to turn around. HOW ON EARTH COULD THEY LEAVE US IN BELGIUM?!?!?! We are Americans, don't speak any languages other than English, and were now abandoned 4 hours from Paris!! First I, then my wife, tried to get the operator to call the bus. Nope. We called back and got someone else, but still he wouldn't call. Told us to find a train station and make our way back to Paris. So, I try to get an Uber to the nearest station, but guess what? Uber doesn't operate in Bruges, Belgium. So we were stranded. In Belgium. 4 hours from Paris. No cash. Don't speak any of the multiple languages. After about 30 minutes, we found a wonderfully pleasant taxi driver who got us to the station, which was only a short distance away with my wife's injured ankle, walking was not a possibility. We hopped a train to Brussels, then to Paris.

What kind of tour operator treats their clients like this? It's not like we were so late for the bus that we brought it upon ourselves. We were only 13 minutes late. And had been trying to call to inform them. And they had my phone number, so why did the guide not try to call and see where we were? Did they not care? Did they not realize we were missing hard to imagine, as we left our pillows on the bus, and they were in our seats. We spent 400 on this tour, then had to spend an additional 300 on train tickets to get back to Paris. No one ever bothered to check on us, to see that we made it back to Paris safely. This Company needs to thoroughly review its policies before someone ends up in much worse shape than us. I would recommend AGAINST taking this tour, or any other, run by CityVision Tours.
