This was a marvelous tour of the Ile including the Palace of Justice, original lodging of the King. The history of the Ile and the structures such as Notre Dame, Palace of Justice, and Ste. Chappelle were so interesting. Our guide, Maureen, was very knowledgeable about the architecture and local history. My husband, son, daughter-in-law and I were the only ones on the tour so it was very special. We ended with a stop at one of the oldest restaurants for wine, cheese, bread, meat tasting. We would all highly recommend this tour!
This was the best tour we took in Paris!!! The information on this tour is outstanding and very different from the standard tour, so enjoy this one, as you won't find another as informative, entertaining, and of course, the wine and cheese were great!!!
This was an outstanding tour. Our guide, Violet, was fantastic. We were a small group and she was very knowledgeable of the area. The wine tasting was an added bonus. We all thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would recommend this tour to anyone going to Paris.
This was a really great experience, tour guide was very good. Especially liked the stop at a small restaurant for wine and cheese.
The tour was thoroughly enjoyable and we highly recommend it. We thought that the tour would actually be inside the cathedral but was not. We entered the cathedral, free, on our own and toured this ancient building. The wine tasting and cheese at the end of the tour set the tour off in our memories.
Great Tour ! Our guide was a good English speaker and told us everything there is to know about the area. Our group was pretty small, the atmosphere quite friendly and we got to ask all the questions we had, a very fulfilling experience :
Sam was our guide for this walking tour. He was great and very knowledgeable. The tour was so informative and fun- even with the occasional rain. I recommend this tour on your very first day in Paris. Its a great introduction to Paris history! We enjoyed the wine tasting a lot. Thank you!
Upon arrival, we discovered we were the only two so we were treated to a VIP tour with Violet. She was a fabulous tour guide showing and explaining sites that we never would have known without her. We enjoyed our wine and cheese tasting as well. She picked out great wines and picked a restaurant that has the oldest wine cellar in Paris! We feel that we made a friend that day!
I think this needs to be made clear that you do not actually go into the Notre Dame or the Ile de la Cite. It is definitely a walking tour. I loved that the group was small. The wine tasting was in a place that had a bit of history which made it more enjoyable. Our tour guide was a hoot and made the fact that it was cold and wet part of some of the history she gave us.
Caroline our guide was charming and passionate about the subject and had very good English which was a bonus
It was a good tour to get the feel of the area and some insights into the history
The 3 hours was just enough
