We absolutely loved this class. The venue was charming, and so was our host Fredrick. We all had a great time making the dishes and listening to Fredrick's infortaining stories. The market tour was very good but the cooking class and the food we made was the best. The five hours passed quickly and there was never a dull moment.

I had a lot of fun in this cooking class and learnt some interesting things. Fred and Frederick, our chefs, were very informative and great teachers. They explained everything so we understood and could definitely go home and show off our new skills. There were 13 people at my class, which was split into 2 groups after the market tour. We then made Mussels Marinieres, Coq au Vin and Peach Melba with Vanilla Ice-cream. The kitchens and dining area were well equipped and nicely decorated. Everyone in the class had a great fun time. Thank you.

This was a great experience learning to cook several different dishes, learning tips you never knew before, and then eating the food with wine and enjoying what you made. The market trip was also great.

This was one of the best experiences I had in Paris. The chef was fun, interesting and knowledgeable! I absolutely loved walking to the open air market. We discovered amazing cheese! The class was also a lot of fun. I met interesting people and learned a few new cooking techniques that will make preparing meals quick and beautiful in presentation. I highly recommend this class for foodies!

A charming cooking school, beautifully decorated in France. I had a fantastic experience with Fredrick during this cooking class. It was my first full day in Paris and I learned how to whip up chicken coq au vin in no time. : In fact, I enjoyed this class so much I came back to take the macaron class later on in the week with Amanda.

Best experience ever and the highlight of my trip to Paris. My son and I took the 6 hour class which included the market visit where we got a mini lesson on French cheese and wine. Fred and Frederick were both entertaining and shared a wealth of knowledge on French cooking as well as the culture and history of France. I hope to take another class on my next visit!

This class rocked. I had a blast learning some of the fundamentals of French cooking and considering the amount of time we had we were really able to create something delicious and gorgeous. Fred kept us interested the entire time, and told some great historical snippets as well as some funny jokes. It was the perfect way to learn more about French culture - through its food! Would definitely recommend to anyone with even the slightest foodie tendencies. We had some time to explore during market tour so it was also a chance for me to pick up some fois gras to bring back home for much less than in the States.

This was a wonderful experience! I opted for the market visit and it was a nice walk during which we learned about French cheese and wine. The market itself was neat and we had a little bit to wander if we wanted to.
Once back we got to work peeling, chopping, laughing and enjoying the experience. New ways of cooking and preparing food were learned and I've already started using them! In particular the stock brand Fred uses. It has incredible flavor and I was able to find some before I left Paris and will be sure to purchase more during future trips! it's seriously good!!!
Don't miss this experience!!!

FANTASTIC! We liked it so much we stayed for a second class and learned how to make macaroons. Both Fred and his wife Amanda were patient, excellent teachers and very engaging. This was definitely a highlight of our vacation and I would highly recommend it.

I'd been wanting to do a French cooking class in Paris for years, and I was pretty stoked to stumble across Le Foodist when I finally got around to it. I did the lunch cooking class with Fred, who was very entertaining and full of knowledge about not only French cooking, but French history in general.
Unlike some cooking classes, we all got to help out cooking a bit of everything - we weren't assigned to one part of the meal only. Great food - accompanied by wine of course - and a great way to spend an afternoon.
The next time I head back to Paris, my first stop will be Le Foodist's cheese and wine pairing.

This was a real treat. I wasn't expecting to walk away with so many specific cooking tips and techniques. You can participate in the actual cooking as much or as little as you want. Personally, I took advantage of every opportunity to try a new technique. I was there on my own so I can attest that It's great for a single. Judging from the like minded foodies I met at the class, it's also great for couples, mother/daughters or friends. Fred is charming, knowledgeable and is willing to share his passion for food with you. The market visit adds another dimension to the class, but the ladies who joined us to simply cook seemed equally pleased with the experience.I highly recommend the experience and you'll love the meal you prepare.

Fred took us to a cheese shop and explained the different types and origins. Then off to the open market to purchase fresh produce. Back to the kitchen where we were totally hands on. Enjoyed the meal - looking forward to the recipes coming soon.,

Chef Fred owner of the cooking class was a delightful, engaging host and excellent teacher. He used a story-telling approach to our cooking lessons, connecting the food we prepared to its place in French history, and keeping the five-hour class interesting from beginning to end. The market trip and cooking class was both well timed and well organized. We prepared a multi-course meal salmon carpaccio, coq au vin, poached pears with ice cream and chocolate sauce - with a focus on organic ingredients and sat down to enjoy the courses together while things simmered. Fred shared excellent tips and techniques including knife skills, using corn starch, cooking chicken in seven minutes, and more. The private, professional kitchen, located in the Latin Quarter, was beautifully and tastefully designed. This class was one of the highlights of our trip.

Wed love to have the recipes on hand to take with us, or emailed to us afterwards. What better way to share our experience with our friends and family, than to prepare these dishes at home ourselves?

I'd found this class on TripAdvisor and it comes strongly recommended and rightfully so. From the moment that Fred opened the door and ushered us in for coffee we felt as if welcomed by a friend. His warmth and humour, undoubtedly influenced by his English wife, comes not just in his welcome, but in the way he tells tall tales about the history of certain foods or teaches a wide variety of skill levels in the kitchen.
We opted for the market tour, which, if you are a cheese fan, is a great option. I'd also recommend it purely to get acquainted with Fred or any of the lovely team. Food is life and they very much prove this to you in the short walk to the market and back.
We had a mix of people and skills in our class, but it makes little difference. The meal was what I would describe as 'elevated essentials'. Our menu was more weekend fayre than Michelin star, but this is how it should be and I really enjoyed how Fred explained the processes with a healthy dose of the science behind everything, which is the most valuable lesson that many will take from this class.
I've already recommended the class to a friend travelling to Paris as I returned and I would heartily do the same to all food eaters/lovers reading this. Not least for the satisfaction of leaving with a full belly, some new tricks and friends and strolling to one of the nearby jardins to walk it off.

Our chef in nstructor was wonderful and filled with historical facts...I take cooking classes wherever I travel but I have never been given a plastic apron...it was an insult for the price I paid!
