Lavanya was an excellent tour guide. very knowledgeable and friendly. Went out of her way to explain the hsitory and answer all our questions. It was my first day in Paris and I was worried I would be too jet lagged to do a walking tour. But she made it so much fun, I didn't feel tired at all.

Great tour with history explanations that put the buildings in context. I now look at the historical buildings with a vivid backstory.

This tour was our favorite. Our guide was very engaging, and we really learned a lot. I booked the tour because it was something I was interested in, and I dragged my kids and husband along. Afterwards, they could not stop talking about it - they loved it. We are so glad we did it.

Recommend for history buffs like me and people who just want to an introduction to the French Revolution alike! The Revolution is a complex topic but our guide Ben presented it in a very digestible format.

A really interesting tour giving a good overview of the Revolution from Louis XIV to the death of Robespierre and the rise of Napoleon, it starts at Les Invalides and finishes near Odeon Metro, via The Assemblee National, Place de la Concorde, the Tuileries Gardens, the Louvre and part of the St Germain area. Our guide was Ted, of Fat Tire Tours. He was a really engaging and knowledgeable guide, happy to answer any questions and always making sure everybody had caught up with the group before speaking about the monument we had walked to. Our party included 2 ladies in their seventies and although it was a little bit of a pacey walk, Ted always made sure there were places for them to sit down while he spoke. Also we learned a lot just from listening to him as we walked between sights. Very good value for money - Ted's enthusiasm for the subject was such that we overran by about 20 minutes, even though he had a sore throat! I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody wanting a crash-course in the revolution.

My three teenage sons and I did this tour with a fabulous guide, Ben. He had a gift for making history come alive. My three sons loved it - we were entertained the entire time. The tour was not too long -- just right. I highly recommend this tour for anyone 10 years of age and up.

This was the first time doing a walking tour in Paris. We were unsure what to expect. This was a French Revolution walking tour. It was fantastic. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. We walked for about 2 and 1/2 hours and brought the French Revolution to life. She explained and pointed out numerous historical places. We ended the tour at Proscope restaurant and had a glass of wine. This was one of the oldest restaurant in Paris that Benjamin Franklin frequented.

We all loved this tour. Again, the guide was excellent. We covered quite a bit of ground and were treated to an excellent potted history of Paris, the royals and the people. A wondrous introduction to a week in Paris.

When booking my trip to Paris some 5 months ago, I focused my activities around going on this walking tour. Despite running a few minutes late, the tour guide was still at the meeting point and greeted us promptly. At each stop our guide gave us plenty of information about what the site was and what the historical context/importance of the stop was without being too convoluted. Whilst at a stop at Place de la Concode, she pointed out that whilst the square today does not have any obvious markers of its violent role during the Revolution, there is a subtle homage to the guillotine if you look very closely and your guide happens to point it out!! Overall, very pleased with this walking tour and I would wholeheartedly recommend if you have an interest in history.

Lots of great information. Would have been even better if the weather was warmer and drier. There was some confusion as to the meeting place to start the tour. We were given a street address, but our guide was waiting as the nearby Metro stop about 1/2 a block away. A phone call got us all in the right place.

My daughter and I agree this tour with Gil was our favorite part of our trip! His knowledge of the French Revolution was amazing both from the grand picture to the intimate details of the lives of those who were affected. The history was so interesting and he built a platform for the revolution by informing us of the early history and society which led to the breakdown of the Royal family and Paris itself. Fantastic.

We had an excellent tour guide I believe from California, originally who was so knowledgeable and gave us so much information. He had an excellent speaking voice and delivery. He was just wonderful! I would say that The French Revolution tour was my favorite. Thank you!

Gil took us on a great walk of some key locations that he used to tell a story of the 1789 Revolution. I really liked the length and pace of the tour. Two hours was just enough history and information to spark my curiosity and want to come home and read more but not so long that I got tired or bored. At my request, Gill recommended a couple of books to further my understanding of this subject.

This tour was simple, easy to walk and informative. Our guide was from the states living in Paris to get his masters degree, so his English and description of the historic evenst were easy to understand. The tour was conducted by a local tour operator. We had another tour with this company, so we highly recommend them.

We had an excellent guide, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. She was willing to answer all our questions with enthusiasm, even those which were not related to the French Revolution. This is an excellent tour for someone who wants to understand better why the Revolution took place, and what happened during the revolution.
