What You Can Expect

Paris to Bruges Day Trip

Bruges, the Venice of the North

Board a coach in Paris for the scenic drive into Belgium through the northern part of France. Bruges sits in northern Belgium, near the North Sea, in the region known as Flanders.

Despite the history of war in this area, the Medieval center of Bruges is amazingly well-preserved – so much so that the historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Your visit to Bruges begins with a guided walking tour of the charming Medieval center, including ornately-decorated buildings, the Saint-Sang Basilica on Place du Bourg, the Beguine Convent, the Gothic City Hall and the 12th-century Markt Square with its iconic bell tower.

After the walking tour, take a brief canal cruise (for summer visits, from April to October) to see this charming city from the water, followed by free time to explore Bruges on your own. (Visitors during the rest of the year go straight from the walking tour to leisure time in Bruges.) Take advantage of your free time to see Flemish art museums, shops selling handmade lace or enticing Belgian chocolate shops.

An amazing, most do trip. This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. The sights were outstanding and the walking tour and canal ride were fantastic and very informative. You just have to buy some Belgian chocolates while you are there!!!

I enjoyed everything about this trip. The trip going to Bruges was very comfortable. I was a perfect day during our tour, the boat ride was perfect and our time that we spent, independently was enough to enjoy the town. Bruges is a lovely town to visit. A must see.

I was travelling alone -- and found this tour to be absolutely great! The guide was totally fluent in English and made the trip meaningful. The trip to Bruges was filled with delightful stories about the history and anecdotes. The trip home was fairly quiet -- as we were all quite tired. The boat trip in Bruges was ideal -- and that we were able to take it anytime during our stay in the city was great -- as there were so many things to do -- that it just fit in whenever there was time. All in all -- a good way to understand a city in a short period of time.

We really enjoyed this tour. The bus ride is 4 hours each way, and then you spend 5 hours in Bruge. They do stop at a rest stop on the way. The tour guide was very knowledgable and spent over an hour on the bus talking about the history of Bruge and Belguim. Once we were in Bruge, we went on a quick walking tour, where she pointed out the historic buildings and places to eat and shop. We then took a ride on the canal included in the price and spent the rest of the afternoon hours shopping, having lunch, and checking out the old beautiful buildings. Make sure you try the chocolate. Amazing!

This was a great trip. They only thing that I would highly advise is that you add a note were you remind people to make sure they have their passports with them. We were in Paris and were taking the tour from there. With all the excitement we left our passport at the Hotel. We could not go. They would not let us on the bus. However, they did re-schedule it for us and we did not loose the money.
It really worked out and the rep in Paris was awesome.
