A great choice for doing the Louvre. Our guide was knowledgeable and fun. Saw all the key items we wanted to see. Touring the louvre without a guide would be silly since its size is daunting.

The description of this tour matched our needs perfectly unfortunately the tour itself left a lot to be desired.
The tour mentions, Your tour begins by skipping the regular entrance line, and takes you instead through a 'secret' entrance. Also, given our communication with tour agency we had assumed that the guide would already have the tickets. However, after meeting our guide about 10min from the entrance of the Louvre, he had us get into regular lines. We asked him several times about alternate/secret entrances, he told us that lines are short so it will be quick. While lines were shorter than usual 20-30min as apposed to hours, it was frustrating to see people with tickets printed at home go to the front of the line. we were about 45min into our 4 hour tour when we started the actual tour.

Our guide was pleasant but minimally informative of the paintings and even less so of the sculptures. Many times we had to ask for information to be given. A lot of the time he just walked along with us and when we asked what certain things were, he went up and attempted to read the info plate but couldn't read most because they were in French. There are tens of thousands of art pieces in the Louvre, we did expect the guide to know everything about everything but the overall knowledge shared about the major pieces was quite limited. There was no information about the Da Vinci code, minimal to none about the smaller, lesser-known works that are the Louvre's true attractions.
After seeing some of the main attractions, we spent a big part of the remaining time being seemingly lost. Our Guide had quite a difficult time finding many of the attractions that either he had mentioned or we had asked for. With our guide not possessing much knowledge about them, the plaques having only minimal information in French, we really didnt learn much. Overall we would have been much better off having printed the tickets ourselves, and rented headphones.
