My husband and I saved this tour until the day before we ended our stay in Paris. We had seen exhibits of Monet art in our home art gallery in the States, but thought that visiting the home base where the artist lived and painted for so long would be a unique experience. It truly was and enhanced our eight-day visit to France significantly. We visited on Saturday and were the only couple in the passenger car transfer, having one-on-one access to the driver who was very well informed regarding the Monet home and site. We were let out and asked to return in three hours after our self-directed tour. We visited the sights photographed in the preview of this tour in about the order in which they appear. The home, brook and ponds near the home are truly unique and demonstrate why Monet stayed so long in Giverny. All of the staff was very helpful and we enjoyed a small meal after our walk through the gardens just before our driver arrived for our trip back to Paris. Both of us noted that some tours would have cancelled the visit for lack of numbers, but this did not happen here. We recommend this tour to folks who have an extra half day in Paris before having to depart. It made our visits to museums where we saw Monet's work much more meaningful, as it gave significant context to the home, paintings and context surrounding the great master's work.

What an amazing day from the time we were picked up from our hotel until we returned mid afternoon. A very pretty drive through the countryside on our way to Giverny. We arrived shortly before the gardens opened and were some of the first people through the gate and went straight to the pond and the bridge so well known from Monet's paintings. The water was still and not too many people there so we were able to get lots of lovely photos of the lake, water lilies and surrounding gardens. The gardens soon filled with lots of tourists but we loved wandering through them and seeing everything. A tour through Monet's house was so worthwhile and interesting. After we left the gardens we had time for a walk around the beautiful village of Giverny where there were many very old interesting houses and gardens spilling over the walls. An interesting old church at the end of the village where Monet was buried and also a British Commonwealth war cemetery.
A wonderful day out and would not have missed it for anything.

It was lovely being met in our hotel lobby and then straight away we were off to Giverny. Our driver was friendly and we had some great conversations on the way to and from our destination. Monet's home is so beautiful, especially the sunny yellow kitchen area! I didn't realize that Monet was into Japanese art which was displayed in the kitchen area too. We were there on Oct. 31st, the day before we left to go back to the States, and even though the flowers weren't in full bloom, there were still flowers throughout the area. Walking around outside to view the cute little green bridge and the lily pond was also really nice. I'm so happy that we signed up for this tour!

Took the morning tour, which is less crowded. Everything went very smoothly. The driver picked everyone up at their respective hotels in Paris and drove us to Giverny. During the ride we watched a video on Claude Monet. The driver dropped the 4 of us off at the gardens, so we were free to explore the gardens, studio, and gift shop at our own pace. We met the driver and the rest of the group at the appointed time and we got a ride back to our hotels in Paris. A lovely day.

We looked into taking the train from Paris, then catching a shuttle to Giverny and back, but discovered that being collected from our hotel in Paris, handed tickets and walked to a side entrance into Monet's Gardens and Home by our driver was much less stressful. In addition, we had plenty of time to spend in Giverny to tour, shop, and have a lovely long lunch in a charming little hotel gardenAncien Hotel Baudy-highly recommend!. We did share the tour with another couple, but it was fun to meet them. Our driver was fairly fluent in English and gave us quite a bit of information as we traveled. It may have cost a bit extra than doing this ourselves, but it was well worth the added expense to be taken car of in this manor!!

Beautiful experience! Monet's gardens and his house are lovely and could inspire almost anyone to at least want to paint. The town of Giverny is well worth taking the time to walk through and visit Monet's grave. We really enjoyed the whole trip.
