    Paris Market Food Tour
    Jana M, Jul 2019
Caroline (our guide) was very friendly, professional and did a great job. We think it would have been better if she concentrated on food-related aspects of the tour for the first hour rather than talking about history. Streets are so busy we couldn't hear and didn't think it was relevant. We would have liked to spend more time in the market (even if it had been a little free time). We also didn't receive an olive oil tasting as advertised.

This was a nice, quick foodie tour of a patisserie, the farmer's market, and a quick glass of wine at a local wine bar. It was fun and worth the cost. The only thing that would have made it better was less, rather than more, talking and more eating and drinking!

Our guide, Sonja, was well informed about the working class neighborhood in Bastille. I was pleased to have her as a guide, and I recommend her highly.

Enjoyed hearing about the history of the Bastille District. The samplings were great. One of the places we stopped at, Bleu. Sucre, had the most divine pastries. The KouignAmman pastry was the best I have ever had in my life. This patisserie is recommended by David Leibovitz. The tour guide was quite charming and quite knowledgeable.

I gave it the lowest possible rating because, although our party was at the appointed meeting place well in advance of the scheduled tour time, and we waited an hour, the tour guide never showed up. Please credit my American Express card the 400 that I was charged for the tour that never happened.

A great half day out exploring the Bastille areas food and history. Our guide was excellent - no question left unanswered. The food we tasted was delicious and plentiful. Paired with a gorgeous wine in a small but impressive wine bar I couldn't complain.

Our Guide Caroline was superb, her English was excellent and she was very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. The tour itself was very informative, from the amazing breads in the Boulangerie to the Red wine and Tarte flambe and the tour of the market seeing the sights and sounds of the Bastille area, Even the rain did not dampen our good time, would recommend this to anyone wanting to get a taste of how the real Parisiens live

Charlotte was an absolute cracker of a guide with knowledge, enthusiasm and energy. It was great to learn about various French specialities and then shop for myself in the markets afterwards for my time in Paris in my studio. I throughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend this tour and Charlotte in particular as your guide.

We were so excited about this tour, but the guide was disorganized and had very little knowledge about the food or wine we tasted. Our first stop on the tour was in a urine-soaked alleyway. Disgusting. We ate samples of food behind a dirty fish stall in the market and the guide had zero idea what cheeses or wine we sampled. The last stop was in a smoky wine shop with cramped seating. Our guide looked like she rolled out of bed. I would NOT recommend this tour.

We met Charlotte on the steps of th Opera House and she was vibrant and full of information from the start. Our first stop was for coffee and a giant croissant...hint: don't have breakfast before you start! We then hit the closed market and tasted a variety of meats, terrines and pate. The serves were generous and by the time we had tasted the cheeses we were all full. We finished with a friendly wine tasting which really rounded off the morning. We'd highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Charlotte, was a very energetic young lady. The market and food sampling was okay. It was like a walk with girlfriends, which for my husband, was not very enjoyable.

I'm sorry. We can't recommend this tour. Charlotte our guide was great, but it was far to expensive for what we did. It would have been nice to be able to sit and enjoy the tastings, instead of out of a paper bag. The wine bar was disappointing, the owner was smoking and there wasn't enough seats for all of us. Also the wine tasting lacked a professional approach

We very much enjoyed this tour, partly because we are foodies and partly because we like a local explaining things we would normally have missed. Our guide, Charlotte, was wonderful and worked so hard to make sure we had a great day. We only had one other great couple on the tour, so that made it very easy to see and hear all Charlotte had to point out and say.

This was a wonderful tour. Our guide, Andrea, was friendly, on time and very interesting to learn French culture from. We tried some of the typical French foods, and were able to mingle with some of the locals in a wine shop. It was fun and we loved it.

This was another excellent tour that introduced us to the Bastille area and in particular Marche d aleigre that we had not visited before. The food and wine tastings were excellent. We would highly recommend this to anyone particularly those staying in the Gare de Lyon area

Excellent tour with our guide Charlotte being knowledgeable and having a good sense of humour. We saw some areas of Paris we would probably never have visited or appreciated fully if we had. Lane ways and eateries and markets etc with all having their significance to Parisians explained. Tastes of croissants best ever, meats, oysters, cheeses and wines. Overall a highlight of our visit.
