Travel back in time on a historical 12-tour of World War II landing sites, with optional hotel pickup. Departing from Paris, your driver will guide your group to the Beach of Normandy, where you'll see The Pointe du Hoc, a promontory that was a German fortification strong point until U.S. army members invaded on June 6, 1944. You'll visit the American Cemetery on a bluff above Omaha Beach, and explore other significant locations such as Mulberry Harbour — built specifically to speed the unloading process of Allied troops — and the Caen Peach Memorial. The tour also includes return transport to Paris.
Great guide and great tour.
Lucille was a delight. She share so much information with us about D-day!
Wonderful day trip to Normandy. Our tour guide, Oliver, was fantastic. Our day started at 6:40am. The car was extremely comfortable. We took a 20 minute break around 8:30am at a clean rest stop with a cafe for those of you who need breakfast/coffee. We got to Point du Hoc around 10:00am and were there for about an hour. Absolutely amazing, very glad we had Oliver to take us around and explain to us what we were seeing. Next stop was Omaha Beach. After about 15 minutes on the beach, we traveled to the American Cemetery where Oliver gave us 50 minutes to walk around and explore on our own. We stopped for 1:15 minutes at a cute town across from Gold Beach where we were free to explore and enjoy lunch at any restaurant. Last stop was the Caen Museum where we explored WWII and the Battle of Normandy on our own. Got back to Paris by 7pm. Highly recommend!!
This was an excellent experience. The guide Olivier was extremely conversant in the topic, was personable, and did an excellent job keeping us on schedule. I am very well read on Normandy and the D-Day invasion, and not only did Olivier not say anything WRONG but he also added details I was unaware of.
One thing I particularly appreciated was that Olivier kept us moving and ahead of the crowds that invariably showed up at various sites AFTER we did. Not only was he well informed on the tour topic but he was also an excellent guide.
Additionally I highly recommend the hotel pickup option expensive but well worth it.
This was a great tour! We enjoyed our guide Sylvain. He was friendly and very knowledgeable. Our small group of 8 allowed for more individual / special attention. Hotel pick up was a wonderful option. Tour included Point du Hoc, Omaha beach and the American Cemetery and Arromanches. There was time for lunch at a lovely beach side restaurant, before traveling to the Caen Peace Memorial / Museum.
I was very pleased with this tour. The guide was precisely on time, quite professional and knowledgeable. The stops were the places I wanted to see and were timed appropriately. Lunch was great, but if doing this again, I would opt to see the small village, shop and grab something simple.
Everyone should see Normandy if they get the chance. Traveling with a small group was the best and easiest way to go. It was very easy to book our trip online before we left the United States. Our tour guide even picked us up and returned us to our hotel at the end of the day. It was a very memorable day!
This was a wonderful tour. Learned much about Normandy and battlefields that I was not aware of. Highly recommend the small tour group
Pascual was an intelligent and knew his history well. It is a 200 mile trip from Paris. The tour covers all of the landing. Trip to Pont du Hoc and to the American cemetery was well worth it. Lunch was at a seaside cafe, it was very good. get the mussels, you won't be disappointed. Caen memorial museum was the final stop. Worth the money.
He guide was knowledgeable and did a good job of pointing out many things that kept the group Interested. She also engaged with us during down times and kept us engaged.
