Awesome tour guide, phenomenal tour, absolutely worth it! Everything was great on this tour - the Operation Overlord Museum is an amazing timecapsule, the cider tasting was deicious - we all bought something to take home, the views of Omaha Beach are stunning, the ghostly Nazi bunkers are eerie, and the rows upon rows of tomebstones are so sobering. I loved the small tour group - it was just our family and one other. This is a fabulous tour operator and one I would book any tour with. This trip is a must see.
This trip was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it. I went with my Son age 12 and my Father and everyone felt the same way. There is no better way to learn history than by physically seeing the cliffs and battlefields. The Museum we visited was so well done and I learned a great deal. I went on this trip because my Son and Father really wanted to go but at the end of the day it was my favorite experience in France. It was way more interesting and emotional than I anticipated and our guide was such an amazing story teller.
OUR PRIVATE ,SMALL GROUP TOUR, FROM PARIS TO NORMANDY WAS JUST FABULOUS,,MY HUSBANDS DREAM FOR 10 YEARS,,
NICHOLAS WAS SO INFORMATIVE AND KNOWLEDGABLE,,HE WAS APLEASURE TO BE WITH ,,HIS VAN WAS VERY'
COMFORTABLE,CLEAN AND ,PLENTY OF ROOM TO STRETCH OUT.
NORMANDY IS A GREAT PLACE TO VISIT,, TO PAY RESPECT, TO THE SOLDIERS THAT MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.
MY HUSBAND ..A VETERAN,,WAS VERY MOVED BY THE WAY FRANCE TAKES CARE OF THE CEMETARY AND HONORS
I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS TOUR,
Great trip! Well worth the money and time. Our guide, Oliver, was superb. Plenty of time at the various stops. Oliver is very knowledgeable and personable. Personally I was a bit disappointed with the museum but the rest of the tour was good. The lunch stop was good with a 10E special, cheeseburger, fries and drink! The cemetery was impressive and we were able to see the lowering of the colors. Very somber. The final stop for cider tasting was fun even though I didn't like the various ciders. I'd definitely recommend this tour to anyone. It is a long day with lots of walking but well worth it.
When we decided to visit Paris, my wife immediately told me that she had to go to Normandy. While both of us had fathers who served in the military - neither in WWII as they were too young - as do two of our children now, there was no direct connection. However, it's somewhere she's always wanted to visit and was determined that if she was visiting France there was absolutely no way she wasn't going.
It was by far one of the best days on our vacation that we enjoyed - to be where the fall of Nazi Germany truly began was overwhelming to say the least. Our guide Nicholas was fantastic, he provided information that you read or heard during school - but being there and hearing even more details truly added to our experience. He has made both of us want to go back and read even more about this period in time, when you're there and realize how different things could have been if the Germans had not be defeated - you truly wish everyone had the same opportunity as we did to know how fortunate we are.
Both of us would encourage everyone to take this tour and to just absorb everything you see. We were in a small group of 8 which made it much easier to get around as well ask questions - Nicholas truly made this tour all the better for each of us on it. It was so worth the time we spent, we're looking forward to going back when possible and taking a bit more time to explore all of the locations.
A final word - the American Cemetery was at the end of the tour, a culmination of all that we'd seen you might say. It is absolutely breathtaking, there are no words to really describe how thoughtful as well as beautiful a tribute it is to our fallen military. To be fortunate enough to see this is to remind all of us that freedom truly isn't free.
This tour was fantastic! Ollie was a great tour guide who really brought the history to life. We never felt rushed the whole time. Great tour!
This was probably my favorite day on a 3 week tour of Europe. I came away with so much respect for our soldiers. Our guide was so helpful he was even pushing one of our group around in their wheelchair, so the guy's family could explore without hindrance. He shared so much information and made sure we had enough time at each of the sites we visited. His view of history from the French perspective was also very interesting.

Very nice day trip to WWII sites and moving visit to American cemetery. Guide did an excellent job of getting us to the sites and back to Paris. He was very knowledgeable and pleasant.
The trip was awesome, mainly because we were interested in that portion of history and our guide, Oliver Ollie was excellent. He gave us great information. All in all, a must-do for anyone interested in D-Day landings.
Our tour guide Nicholi was amazing. Great detail was provided about the US and British advances along the beach as well as how the Germans were defending the land. He also gave great information on the region from past information to present day. Doing a smaller group gave more access to beach area points that are unable to be reached with a large group. The drive to and from Paris makes this is a really long day, but it was so worth it to be in the presence of an area where so many gave such great sacrifices to defend the world. Normandy without it's history is beautiful itself to see.
The tour was excellent. Our guide was very engaging and his descriptions of the battles brought the D day landing sites to life. The American cemetary was very sobering, and the Overlord museum was incredible. Our lunch stop and cider tasting were great and I'd highly recommend this tour.
This day trip was great and our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. This small group tour made it especially comfortable and gave it an uncrowded feeling. I highly recommend it!!!
Amazing tour, 3 people wound up not showing up which worked to our advantage we had a very small group tour of only 4! Even if we had the full amount of people our tour would have been excellent because we had the most amazing guide. Ollie was so knowledgeable, fun, friendly and helpful. 5+ stars.
The day tour to Normandy D-Day sites was a highlight of our trip in Paris. Our tour guide Olie was wonderful. He was friendly, out going and knowledgeable. He patiently answered all of our questions. The tour was small and personally tailored. He description of the countryside and and his enthusiasm about the sites, history and personal sacrifice of young soldiers was riveting. We had a great lunch and the cider tasting along with the lowering of the flag at the American Cemetery with taps was inspirational. A nice way to end a day filled with emotions. Joanne
Amazing experience! Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to see the full range of D-Day and its history. Our guide couldn't have been better and the day exceeded all expectations!
Hands down, the BEST experience of our whole vacation. Our tour guide, Olivier, was just amazing. So personable. He was really, really passionate about the history of D-Day, and he was just a joy to be with all day. He helped us with tips for the rest of our trip as well, which really came in handy. This more private tour was really the way to go and WELL WORTH every penny! If you're trying to decide how to spend your excursion budget, this is the one! There were 7 of us, plus Ollie, makes 8. Yes, it was a long day, but we enjoyed every second of it. Our lunch was amazing, as well as the cider tasting, the war museum, the beach, getting to see the actual German bunkers, the American cemetary.......really, really, really special day. Thank you, Olivier!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all I have to recommend that you must go with a small group tour. We started early morning and met at a cafe in Paris and traveled in a comfortable van to Normandy. It was about a three hour drive and we did stop once at a rest stop to use the restroom and get some coffee. As we approached Normandy, Our amazing guide Jean Baptiste pointed out landmarks and other points of interest. His knowledge base is absolutely incredible. I thought I knew a decent amount of history but I was really impressed. I had always been so focused on the history from D-Day and the rest of WWII, that I didn't even come to think of the thousands of years prior to the war. He talked to us for about an hour inside the van with a chronological overview or Normandy's history and all of the surrounding areas as well. Our first stop was at the Longues-sur-Mer battery which is a series of German bunkers along with large artillery batteries. Not only did he show us the physical history, but he put us in the shoes of a German Soldier waking up to see 5,000 Allied ships treading straight towards the coast. Crazy. Next stop was Omaha Beach. We had about 20-25 min to walk around the beach and take pictures, take a moment for the soldiers who past away on that day, and check out a couple bunkers. Some advice, save a water bottle or a Pringles can and take some sand because the next stop was the Operation Overlord museum where they sell little glass bottles that say Omaha beach. I took a little bottle of Omaha beach home with me as a souvenir. Then we got lunch at a little French cafe which was pretty good. Not too pricey about 10-15 per person. We then went to Pointe du Hoc which was incredible. There are hundreds of bomb craters that are still there today! Some are still easily 30 feet deep and 60 feet across. This is the place where the Rangers scaled the cliffs on D-Day After Pointe du Hoc, we went to a little cider tavern and sampled some apple cider and some calvados. 40 alcohol made from apples. Although I did purchase a couple bottles, there was no pressure or obligation to buy anything which I had been expecting. And the final stop was the American Cemetery. Words are unable to describe the place. There are almost Ten thousand graves of American Soldiers. The tour of the Cemetery is about 30 to 40 minutes and our group was given 20 min or so to freely roam around the graves or tour the chapel. On our way out of the Cemetery, they were retiring the flag and played Military Taps. It was a really touching experience. We went back to Paris, and were dropped of in a pretty busy location with lots or restaurants and near a metro station. This tour was totally worth the price and my advice is go with the small group tour because it is practically private and compared to my Pompeii tour which was on a 50 person bus, I learned so much more and was able to talk to the guide and ask questions. No microphones in a large bus, but a conversation in van. Thank you Jean Baptiste! This tour was amazing!! And for all those who are looking to take this tour, or really any tour, DON'T FORGET TO TIP!!! As someone who works in the industry, our guide deserved a little extra and it never hurts. And finally, do not forget a jacket, even in mid July, it was pretty cold and there is an ocean breeze.
This tour was a must, I went to Normand to pay my respect, these outstanding Soldiers are not forgotten! Thank you for your services and a dept that can't be paid back.
Oliver was a great guide. He kept saying that he didn't want to rush us because it was our day. The only thing I would say is to suggest people bring water/snacks along. Great day trip - not to be missed.
This was an amazing Tour, very interesting and very moving. I think Nico was our Tour Guide it's a little while ago now was a wealth of information. I chose this particular Tour because of the places we were to visit and also because it was a small group, I chose well. It is a big day, but very worthwhile, I highly recommend this Tour. There is no Paris Hotel pickup, but we had been in Paris for a couple of days and had no difficulty catching trains to the meeting place. Great Tour, must do it.
I will start with saying how impressed we all were with our tour guide, Jean Baptiste. He spoke impeccable English. He possessed a complete knowledge of WW2 history in connection with Normandy and D day and used actual photographs of D day scenes in his explanations. He told the stories of various soldiers who were buried in the American Cemetery and pointed out to us the number of brothers buried there and Medal of Honor winners buried there. It was an unbelievable experience. The American Cemetery at Omaha Beach is the most incredible thing that I have ever seen in my life. If I ever again schedule one of these tours in France I will ask for Jean Baptiste.
I was a meaningful day for me and my family!! William was a great tour guide and was able to interject personal stories into the locations we visited. He also was descriptive and each stop which enabled my teenage son and daughter to gain some perspective on the sacrifice and harsh realities our brave soldiers experienced on D-Day.
Great trip! It was nice to get out of Paris and see the countryside. Our guide, William, was superb! His visual aides, background, and knowledge brought you back in time. To see what still remains of the war today is remarkable.
We had an excellent trip to Normandy. William was awesome. I will recommend.
