I was disappointed that this was a tour uploaded through an app on my phone and not with an actual guide. The information provided in the app was comprehensive, but it was not the engaging experience I'd hoped it would be. The sommelier at the end of the tour was great, however, and he had an extensive knowledge of the wines and how and where they are produced. I did a different tasting experience during my first stay in Paris and much preferred it over this one.
There are six room only for the diskovery...
This was disappointing. The wine cave itself is very cool and worth visiting, even if the activity itself is pretty lame. The app would be cool, but it often didn't work and many pages would not load. The interactive exhibits were neat, especially the one where you guess the smells. The wine tasting was just ok. What was really disappointing was the 'customized' wine bottle. The website advertises that you get to create your own wine by mixing different varieties and then make a customized label. Actually you just get to pick red or white and then they take a photo of you and slap it on the bottle. They didn't even bother peeling off the original label. And the wine we took home is undrinkable. Viator should be a lot clearer about what you are actually booking with this one. Recap: worth it to buy a tasting just to see the caves but plan to be in/out quickly as there are much cooler things to do in Paris. Skip all the extras.
