What a spectacular day. Seeing the grounds by bike was definitely the way to go as they are so big! Our picnic on the canal with local produce was fantastic. We were extra lucky as it was a fountain day. I just loved it.
Mark was so knowledgeable and we breezed through Versailles. Guys honestly DO THE BIKING TOUR! If you see how huge this place is you'll never be able to cover it walking. We were so relieved we picked this option!! The lunch was simply amazing. What an experience!!
Excellent day out and great way to see all the main areas of the palace and gardens. Cycling was enjoyable but to be honest I didn't enjoy the part through Versailles itself but that is partly because I am not used to riding a bike through traffic. Could also be slower paced. Was a bit too rushed for me. I was there to see the sights and enjoy the scenery, not to pretend I am Tour de France material. All in all a lovely day though. Any day at the palace of Versailles would be perfect. Also the little market where you pick up your lunch supplies is so lovely.
even though it rained, we had lots of fun. lunch with wine, bread, cheese and ham was amazing.
We had a perfect day at Versailles with our tour guide Aly. Weather was great and no crowds!!! Amazing experience and totally worth it. We had already been there before, but this tour changed our prespective of the gardens. I would say biking is the best way to get to know them. We were able to ride all around the grand canal and enjoy the forest and beautiful views of the palace. The market, the gardens, the views and the picnic made this one of our favorite experiences of our trip.
Our tour guide was amazing!! Aly was very knowledgeable and helpful. We thought she was awesome, we would totally recommend it for anyone looking for an amazing Versailles/French experience. The picnic part was something that we probably would not have done on our own and will remember forever.
We had a fantastic time on this day tour. We loved our tour guide April who had a fun way of reviewing the history of Versailles and The area where Marie Antoinette stayed during the day. We loved the lunch and met some great people on this trip. One of our favorite days of our vacation,
We greatly enjoyed the trip. April was vey good down to earth and informative.
What a spectacular experience! Versailles really is indescribable. We had a perfect day with a perfect host! April, our guide, made sure that we experienced the best of the best whether it was photo opportunities, lunch sights, or beautiful spots to share her depth of wisdom or a bit of wit. Her joy and effervesce were contagious to all on the tour. Also of note was her ease at handling all of the guests which ranged from seniors to school-aged children. Thank you for the memories, April!
We arrived at Notre Dame to be greeted by very professional tour guides, who checked our vouchers and explained the tour day to us. We were then guided to the train station and arrived in Versailles to collect our bikes. Our guide for the day was Aly, she was energetic, enthusiastic and a pleasure to be with. She happily answered questions and was very respectful of those on the tour who had not ridden a bike for some years. The gardens were a delight and seeing then via the bike ride was wonderful. We were then left to view the castle on our own at our leisure. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone and you do not have to be fit to experience the bike ride.
What a great way to get a sense of the majestic gardens and scale of Versailles. Our guide, Anna, was witty and informative and made the day truly memorable. She put on fabulous weather too, which was greatly appreciated.
Our bike tour through Versailles was the best part of our trip. Our tour guide April was simply the best. She was friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, and engaging. The picnic on the canal and shopping in the market for picnic items were the highlights of the tour. I would recommend this tour to anyone.
a great day out cycling around the gardens and extended properties of the palace. Our guide Mark was excellent and made the day fun as well as informative. Lots of walking too. The palace itself was very crowded and our guide had to queue to quite a while to get in. Loved the bike tour though. Easy going pace and beautiful scenery.
One of the highlights of our time in Paris would highly recommend and we were no experienced cyclists by any stretch of the imagination. Our guide Mark made history come alive with his storytelling, a great natural teacher.
Best tour we have ever taken. Tour guide Mark was incredible -- nice guy, well informed, funny -- just overall a wonderful and pleasant day and experience. Highly recommend.
Mark, our tour guide did an outstanding job of being a great historical storyteller as well as patient and knowledgeable of Versailles. He directed us to the best markets to purchase our picnic supplies, provide the esstential bottle opener and knives for slicing. We had a great time and thorougly enjoyed our day trip to Versailles. We were able to bypass the massive groups of tourists there and by the end of the day could tour the main buildings with lesser crowds. I would recommend this tour to anyone who knows how to ride a bike and wants to make the most of a day at Versailles! It was well worth the money.
5 Stars !
Great day spent. Our guide, Alexandrea, was very informative and entertaining!!!
The small group made it easier to travel.
Would have liked to have spent more time on the bikes on the grounds of the palace.
The tour was excellent! Our guide however was very cocky in an annoying type of manner. He bragged about how great he was and how his tour was much better than his competition. He should have been more humble and just happy to do his job. I like to tip generously but in this case I gave half.
Versailles wa great....wonderful way to get around the grounds with the use of bikes. Guide made the history and story of the palace and grounds easy to understand. However, he talked far to much and killed a lot of time in areas that were of little importance or of interest such as the animal farm. Great tour...so so guide.
Unfortunately it rained very hard for most of the trip which made us miserable. Had to cancel picnic on grass and eat under umbrellas. Couldn't do the gardens because of the rain. The guide did do all he could to make it memorable, by taking us into places that the tour normally doesn't go. We wish that we had been told how much walking there would be in addition to the bicycling. We were so exhausted after returning the bikes to the barn that we could not walk back up to the Palace and then back. We settled for pictures of it from a distance. If the weather had cooperated I'm sure it would have been wonderful.
This is a wonderful way to experience the surrounding parks, gardens and canals of Versailles. We loved visiting the market to buy our picnic and the bike ride down the Grand Canal was priceless. Our guide was very knowledgable.
