Great day out. It is important to note that the jetty number in the Viator voucher is wrong. It is jetty 4 not jetty 2. We were standing around wondering where everyone was until a man came up to us and told us it was jetty 4.
The trip over was good but take travel sickness tablets if you usually need them. It can be a bit rough when in the open sea. We had time to have a look around before the bus tour. I highly recommend the bus tour for a good introduction to the island. We had two very short stops but got to see a lot, including people pushing their bikes up hills!! The bus was a good way to travel around to see what was available on the island. We had lunch at the Rottnest Hotel which was fine. There were a couple of gluten free options. The trip back on the boat was quite rough. Everyone remained seated and you couldn't see out the windows at times due to the waves crashing on the side of the boat. I would recommend this tour.
We started with a lovely, narrated tour down the Swan River to Fremantle. We had an extremely knowledgeable and passionate guide on our bus tour who covered the history, geology, animal and plant life of the island. We had a lovely lunch, did some souvenir shopping and walked along one of the beaches. Best of all was seeing the Quokkas, smallest cousins of the 'roos who exist only on Rottnest and one other small island. One minor waning: the ferry ride to Rottnest can be a bit rough.
great day, nice boat tour in swan river, plenty of time to see the island on your own, well organised
Fabulous boat trip from Perth across to Rottnest Island. Great hiring a bike to find my way about. Nice lunch in one of the restaurants. Fantastic photo opportunities.
Despite the bad weather the tour didn't disappoint. Saw the Quokkas, which is what I came for! Good informative tour by guide about the history of the Island.
The tour was well done, it showed the attractions that make Rottnest Island famous. Would highly recommend this tour
There is a high chance of spotting a quinoa in the island! The ferry ride to Rottnest Island is pleasant and comfortable.
One of a must do when if you went to Perth! Amazing view and experience. We take the couch while we were on the island so it was not so tiring as to cycle around. More relax for elderly people. The coach did stop at the light house and at the end of the island, Fish hook Bay that has an amazing view! Those who prefer to have some adventures and physically fit, bicycle will be more fun but time consuming!
Absolutely loved our day at Rottnesss, the little Quokkas were an absolute delight . This would be on my list to see again if able.
Amazing day! Beautiful boat ride along the river from Perth to Fremantle and the guide was very informative. I took the bus tour of the island and got a lot of information about the island and its history. I also went on a quokka walk with a volunteer, recommended!
Definitely worth the trip. The high spot were the Quokkas who came out in force to entertain us and pose for selfies. The bus tour was great and the lunch adequate. There was plenty of time for walking around and enjoying the shopping area. The boat ride from Perth was quite long and maybe joining at Freemantle is a better option. The open sea stretch was quite bumpy, so beware if you are prone to sea-sickness. Best to sit near the rear of the boat. The check-in at Barrack St Jetty was smooth and easy, the staff on the boat and on the island were excellent.
Excellent tour! Would highly recommend it! The Quokas made our day!
Brilliant the driver was great, the people were friendly. I think we all had an amazing day
Ticket collection was no problem - we showed the voucher on my phone and received the ferry and bus tour tickets. I enjoyed visiting Rottnest Island and will use Viator again.
Loved the trip. The island was great and we particularly enjoyed a walking tour with a lovely Irish volunteer guide as well as the bus tour.
Damian was fun and it's a well paced tour. I'm quite glad I opted for the bus ride instead of touring the island on a bike because of the comfort and excellent commentary from our guide. The lunch was a little disappointing but no biggie. Catch the free tours by volunteers if time permits!
The trip from Barrack Street to Freemantle and then on to Rottnest is a long one but the commentary on the way was excellent and helped the time pass. Rottnest was an absolute delight. Great bus tour of the island again with excellent commentary thank you Sharlene, good lunch at the Lodge and then time to explore a little and to make acquaintance with a quokka. Looking forward to doing it again in summer and enjoying the delights of the water. Thank you. David and Barbara Millons
This was a great trip and we loved Rottnest Island. We had to book from Perth rather than from Fremantle as I was in a wheelchair which they could only get on the boat in Perth. If you are fit I would recommend booking from fremantle as it was rather a long boat trip. However if you've never down the boat trip from Perth to Fremantle it is a good trip, just a little long when you're off to Rottnest as well. The coach tour on the Island was very good and interested and we managed to see some quokkas. All in all a very good trip.
Every part of our your was first rate a
Most enjoyable day from start to finish.
Organisation perfect, coach tour very informative, meal arrangements good, and we enjoyed our necessarily brief visit to Rottnest
Had a wonderful day, very relaxed and very interesting hostory
