5 star rating: Highly Recommended December 2016

This tour on Mt Aaron was amazing!
Our guide was very knowledgeable and the animals were healthy desert horses well suited to the trail. This tour is perfect for people who are active and have a little horse experience, although the guide said they accommodate all kinds of guests :)

1 star rating: I do not recommend this October 2017

I would give zero stars but that's not an option. Our guide told us that this was the first time he was leading the tour by himself. He got lost twice! He took us up the wrong side of Mount Aaron which was a straight vertical drop down. The footing was not stable at all, the rocks fell out from underneath our feet. Since he was trying to find the correct trail he would rush ahead of us and disappear-leaving us! It was extremely dangerous! Leading the horses into such vertical rocky terrain made it much more dangerous as well. The horses ankles were cut and bloody from the rocks. We quickly determined we should get off and climb leading the horses along the way which made it much more difficult to traverse the rocky cliffs. We had to inch our way back across the same dangerous cliffs since the correct trail was not accessible from the side of the mountain he had led us to. We never made it to the top of Mount Aaron! We were lucky to be alive. Seriously, I am not exaggerating! On the way back, my husband's horse simply gave up and fell to the ground with him on it injuring his ankle. Then, the guide got lost again! We ended up abandoning the horses on the side of a hill and hiking through the desert and hills. We ended up in a road where the guide flagged down a car. We have requested and received a refund for this horseback riding excursion. Thank you!
