Had a great time with Dale! Visited many interesting places in Lancaster County. You really do need a full day tour to appreciate the lifestyle of the Amish
    Response from Host, Mar 2023
Thank you William! Yes, we agree....a full day is needed. Otherwise you lose out on the immersion into one of our country's most unique and fascinating cultures.
    Amish tour
    Cheryl_C, Mar 2023
Loved the quilt shops, the tour through the countryside and our guide Tom. He was excellent and very knowledgeable. I learned so much about the Amish and their way of life. I have been to the area before but this tour explained many things that I have been curious about. Great trip and guide - highly recommend!
    Response from Host, Mar 2023
Thank you Cheryl! There are many fascinating aspects about the Amish community that are easily missed. That is why revisiting the area with a local guide makes for such an amazing experience. They open your eyes to so much more.
A fantastic day in Amish Country
    Nadia_P, Dec 2022
This was an amazing trip. It wasn’t great weather and I wasn’t feeling so well but Adam went out of his way to make this day trip a great experience. We learned a lot about the Amish way of life, got to see some amazing wood work, quilting and many other homemade items as well as sample some fantastic Amish sweets like whoopy pies. We highly recommend this tour and cannot thank Adam enough for everything!
    Response from Host, Jan 2023
Ahhh, whoopie pies are the BEST! So simple, yet so delicious. We thank you for joining us our our tour out to Lancaster County. The woodworking skills of the Amish is legendary and is also evolving. You see samples of classic crafts on our tour but also more modern designs that expand what most people think of when they hear "Amish furniture".
    Tom's the best!
    Kevin_H, Dec 2022
Tom was simply exceptional & very knowledgeable. He was very passionate about his work & it showed. Thank you Tom for making my day trip to Amish country an unforgettable experience.
    Response from Host, Jan 2023
Thank you Kevin! We believe that our passion is what makes our tours unforgettable experiences. We love learning about the Amish culture and sharing that with our guests. Plus....we love soft pretzels and baked goods, too!!
A must-visit place when in Philly
    Hannah_T, Nov 2022
I live in a city so I am glad to visit this beautiful countryside while in Philly. It’s peaceful and kind of reminds me that sometimes life can slow down a bit, be a little more intentional and live for what’s more important. James our guide gives great service and very knowledgeable.
    Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you Hannah! It is nice to get out of the city (even as one as awesome as Philly) and enjoy the peaceful countryside. Our tour of Amish Country does just that, plus teaches you about a fascinating culture.
    Amish Amazement
    Cynthia_D, Nov 2022
Tom was the ultimate tour guide. He was knowledgeable, fun, and engaging. I really enjoyed visiting the Amish Village and all of the other stops along the way. I highly recommend this tour.
    Response from Host, Nov 2022
Thank you Cynthia! That is the great guide trifecta! Plus, you get the beautiful Amish countryside. A total win!
    This is a great tour!!

    Amish life and history experience
    Virginia_M, Oct 2022
My favorite part was riding in an Amish buggy with an Amish woman. She was very informative and open to questions
    Response from Host, Oct 2022
Thank you Virginia! Those buggy rides are a great way to travel on the back country roads and learn from a member of the local Amish community.
    Don’t miss this experience!
    Jillian_H, Sep 2022
Dale was our guide and he was brilliant as well as being a really nice guy. We had a super day and learnt lots about the Amish. We definitely recommend taking a horse drawn trip taken by a member of the community.
    Response from Host, Oct 2022
Thank you Jillian! We hope to see you on our other Countryside tours in the near future! In addition to taking guests to Lancaster County to learn about the Amish, we also feature tours of Valley Forge (turning point of the Revolutionary War) and Longwood Gardens (one of the largest and best botanical gardens in the country).
    Amish education
    Gary_H, Sep 2022
The tour was excellent. Our tour guide, Adam, was incredibly knowledgeable about the Amish culture. He also was knowledgeable about Philadelphia in general.

We had a wonderful day with our host Owen. He was knowledgeable, polite, kind and fun. I did not realize that the extras were not included with the tour but it was well worth it (if you want the Amish experience).
    Great guide plus buggy ride!
    Wendy_W, Sep 2022
Our guide Adam was the best ever. So knowledgeable and informative. He made it an unforgettable day and we were able to take a buggy ride…. Quite a highlight!
    Unexpected private tour
    BoonTeck_K, Sep 2022
Surprisingly, I was the sole guest on this trip and thus enjoyed a private tour. Adam was very informative. I learnt a lot about the history, way of life and challenges faced by the Amish. I especially enjoyed the lunch and Amish snacks at the stops in Amish country.
    Excellent Driver
    Stephen_P, Aug 2022
Tom was a great driver with amazing knowledge of the area and history. We didn’t realize the carriage ride and Amish Village tour were not included in the price but otherwise it was a wonderful day. Highly recommended if you aren’t comfortable driving yourself.
    Great tour and guide.
    Stanley_R, Jul 2022

    Carriage ride
    Stephen_S, Jul 2022
Carriage ride and getting to talk with an actual Amish woman driver who was really open to answering all our questions on the ride. Learned a lot. It was Abe’s carriage ride. Our guide was GREAT too.
    Exceeded expectations. Great day.
    Elizabeth_A, Jul 2022
Owen and Jim were a pleasure to spend the day with. Very knowledgeable. Great driver and beautiful scenery. I would highly recommend this tour.
“Fill your life with adventure, not things.”
    Erika_G, Jul 2022
When you are in Philadelphia, it's worth making time to go to Amish country for the day. It was a good value for the money. Pickup was on time and easy to get to as it is centrally located; I could walk from my hotel. Tom was my tour guide; you will be lucky to have him as your guide. He is personable, knowledgeable, and somewhat of a history buff, making learning more about the area exciting and interesting. If you have something specific you are interested in seeing, Tom will be more than happy to tailor the tour to meet your desires. I wanted to go off the beaten path a bit and see where the local Amish shopped. He took me to a lovely family working farm where the family runs a general store. It's a must. The tour has a nice pace. It started at the Amish Village; this was a great way to start; it gave me just enough history of the Amish and their way of life to begin my adventure, and Tom was able to fill in a lot of extra details on the area. After the Amish Village tour, we did some shopping and sightseeing and stopped at Sara Faye's Soft Pretzels. It's a must-try; it's soft, warm, and buttery. I see why Tom bought some to bring back to his friends. We ended the tour with lunch at the Hershey Inn Grand Smorgasbord, and you will get your money's worth there, as well as try some local cuisine, like Amish filling and PA Dutch ham balls. We had a little extra time, and Tom ensured I got my money's worth. He took his time driving me back to the drop-off. He pointed out other points of interest in the area and gave me an overview of the constitutional walk tour. I highly recommend booking a constitutional walking tour with him through his company.
    I missed out

The booking went wrong so i did not make The trip. I hope to find a solition with Viator, so I Can make The trip i july
    Response from Host, Jul 2022
Hello Ellen. I am very sorry this happened to you. We were very much looking forward to hosting you on our trip to Amish Country. I just want to let you know that the issue with your booking is with Viator, not our tour company. For some reason, Viator mixed up your booking date, which caused this confusion. I am very sorry again that this happened and hope to see you on this tour in the near future!
