After your cruise ship docks in St Maarten's port, board a historical schooner for a cruise that includes snorkeling and a gourmet lunch. During this 4.5-hour excursion led by an expert crew, sail over turquoise Caribbean waters along the tropical coastline of St Maarten to dock in Long Bay. With your small group of twenty people or less, munch on homemade snacks and sip a drink from the open bar before diving in for some snorkeling. Relax on deck in the sun and enjoy a gourmet lunch before heading back to shore.
After your cruise ship docks in port, make your way to the St Maarten Yacht Club and Bar in the mid-morning to embark on your 4.5-hour sailing adventure.
Meet your friendly, expert crew when you climb aboard the 'Passaat', a 100-foot (30-meter) historical schooner that was built in 1911. Find a spot to relax on deck and grab a soda, wine, beer or rum punch from the bar. Get to know the other passengers in your group, limited to twenty people to ensure personalized attention and an intimate experience.
As you sail up the coastline of St Maarten, the captain will cut the engines and unfurl the sails. Munch on a homemade coconut or banana cake, accompanied by tropical fruits, and listen to the soothing sounds of the wind and the waves.
When the boat drops anchor in Long Bay, on the French side of the island, dive in for some snorkeling in the warm, calm water. Swim among schools of tropical fish and the living coral, exploring the underwater world.
Back on deck, dig in to a traditional Caribbean lunch of chicken, mahi mahi, rice and plantains. (Please request vegetarian options in advance).
When lunch is finished, enjoy the views or take a nap on the sun-drenched deck as the boat returns to the harbor.
Worry-free Shore Excursion:
We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to the St Maarten port for your ship’s departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.
The couple who run the exclusion are very nice and accommodating, and the idea of the excursion is magical. But in reality slamming around in choppy water takes anyone's appetite away. I think most people had a slight feeling of queasiness and my friend spent the whole time sick over the side.
