Returns to original departure point
After hotel pickup in the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale and Mesa, get comfortable in your luxury van for the drive to Grand Canyon National Park. Make a photo stop along Route 66 where you can stretch your legs and snap views of this historic highway.

Reaching your destination at the South Rim, the crown jewel of your day trip begins with your Grand Canyon helicopter tour. Board a state-of-the-art chopper for a safety briefing, then buckle up for the scenic flight, following the Colorado River toward the canyon’s eastern end. Your pilot soars above the Kaibab National Forest and through the Dragon Corridor—the widest and deepest part of this incredible natural wonder.

Upon landing, soak up more scenery at a lookout point. After, relax on a driving tour of the rim as you snap photos and learn about the Grand Canyon's natural history.

After ample time at the national park, you’re driven back to Phoenix.
Itinerary
Pass By:
Route 66
After departing the Phoenix metro area, our tour travels through the expansive Sonoran Desert filled with the native saguaro cactus. The scenery begins to change as we increase in elevation and views of the cactus fade into pine trees. As we continue further into Northern Arizona, we will travel the outskirts of the Route 66 town of Flagstaff and from the highway, see the San Francisco Peaks among the seemingly endless Ponderosa Pine Forest, the largest contiguous forest of ponderosa pines in the world.
Stop At:
Williams Depot
Williams will be our first stop along the tour for a chance to experience Route 66, the iconic American highway steeped in rich tradition. While in Williams, guests will have the opportunity to “get their kicks on Route 66” with walks along the original route, explore the local shops and capture souvenir photos highlighting a bygone era in classic American history. Also known as the Will Rodgers Highway, Route 66 is the most recognizable road in the United States and stretched 2,448 miles from Chicago to California upon completion. While you are enjoying Route 66, your guide will pick up your picnic lunch made fresh that morning.
Duration: 30 minutes

You will have opportunities to walk the rim, shop, capture an unlimited number of photographs, or relax with the best seat in the house.

Unforgettable Experience!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better Grand Canyon Tour!! Our guide, Jason, very informative and patient. Our pilot, Jesse, amazing. We weren’t cheated out of the helicopter experience, at all. We got our full 45 mins and he educated us throughout the flight. You really get to see so much more of the canyon with the helicopter. So if you can, do it!! Would definitely book with them again.

Toured on 5/29/21. This was a great experience and highly recommended. So glad I included the helicopter tour. It was an unbelievable experience. Maverick Helicopter was well organized. Jeffery was our ground tour guide. He was excellent. He definitely has patience. There was always someone(s) returning to the van late at EVERY stop. It still amazes me how people can be so disrespectful for another person’s time. Plan for a long day, sit back and enjoy.

Jason, our driver, was AMAZING! He was personable, knowledgable, funny, accommodating, helpful and sweet. He went above and beyond to make sure we had photo op time, restroom breaks, shopping time. I would gladly recommend this tour company to anyone. Couldn't be happier.

As long as we get a refund for the helicopter since it was too windy- It was a memorable trip! Long ride though. Our tour guide, Jennifer was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot.

A thoroughly worthwhile trip with a memorable Grand Canyon aerial experience! Our guide, Derrick, was informative, humorous and on time! We would definitely recommend the helicopter tour as it offered a spectacular way to view the canyon. The helicopter company was well organized and at no time did we feel unsafe. Back on the ground we would recommend bringing lunch with you so you can ignore the lines for the restaurant.

Unforgettable experience

Our helicopter schedule was moved without notice, so we had to sit at airport for hour and a half to wait trip. After that they change rout . Instead 45 minutes around Canyon we flew 30 minutes above side of South rim. Helicopter operator Marvins promised us refund $30 per person, but at this time nothing happened yet. After flight we had only 45 minutes to walk around Canyon which is not enough for 13 hour excursion. Rest of them was great, amazing and unforgettable.

Our helicopter partner at Grand Canyon does their best to stay on schedule. They know that we have traveled a long way from Scottsdale/Phoenix. In this case, weather conditions caused some unexpected changes to the trip. We hope to see you back for some of our other amazing destinations.

The whole trip was awesome. Not one complaint about the whole day. The best part was the helicopter flight over the Grand Canyon. Everyone during our tour was courteous and made our trip a pleasure.

Excellent driver of the van. Gave nice information on the drive but not overly chatty. Perfect. Also, the helicopter operations and facilities were top notch! Love the whole experience. ONE SUGGESTION: get all the drivers and pilots on VENMO- no one carries cash anymore! They would have made double that day cause two people in our group said it !

Thanks Richard and we will explore the Venmo idea asap :)

Great overall, with some expected hiccups

I read reviews in advance of this trip, and glad I did. I wasn't surprised that my flight was shortened to 30 minutes due to weather, and that was okay. It's still breath taking. I bought the video, but managed to take great IG worthy videos to post before getting back that day. I also knew that there were minimal plans around food, so I planned with packed snacks. I was surprised we weren't given more verbal instruction around how and when to look for food, or warnings about how long between things. I also didn't realize that by being a heli flyer, the rest of my group would head to the canyon before me, and have more opportuntiy to stand in lines to get into the buildings. Being this trip is in March of 2021, some restrictions seem to continue to impact capcity. There were long lines to get into every building, even for a restroom. It was a cold windy day, and by the time I returned to my group on the rim, I had 45 minutes to see the view, use a bathroom, and find a late lunch. It didn't work out, and "lunch" became an under supplied gas station an hour after leaving the canyon. Still, overall, great trip. Mostly because I anticipated some hang ups, and was okay with managing them. But pack a full lunch if you're flying.
