Grand Canyon Helicopter and Ground Tour From Phoenix

Grand Canyon Day Tour From Phoenix

After hotel pickup in the Phoenix metro area, including Scottsdale and Mesa, get comfortable in your luxury van for the drive to Grand Canyon National Park. Make a photo stop in Sedona where you can stretch your legs and snap views of its renowned Red Rocks while your guide procures a gourmet picnic lunch, which you’ll feast on later at the canyon rim.
Back in your vehicle, continue on one of the most scenic drives in America via Oak Creek Canyon — a river gorge featuring 2,000 vertical feet (600 meters) of red-walled canyon that emerges into a forest of towering ponderosa pines — commonly referred to as the smaller cousin of the Grand Canyon.
Reaching your destination at the South Rim, the crown jewel of your day trip begins with your Grand Canyon helicopter tour. Board a state-of-the-art chopper for a safety briefing, then buckle up for the 50-minute flight, following the Colorado River toward the canyon’s eastern end. Your pilot soars above the Kaibab National Forest and through the Dragon Corridor — the widest and deepest part of this incredible natural wonder.
Upon landing, soak up more scenery and enjoy your picnic lunch at a lookout point. After, relax on a driving tour along a 30-mile (48-km) section of the rim as you snap photos and learn about the Grand Canyon's natural history.
After a total of three hours at the national park, you’re driven back to Phoenix via the the Navajo Nation. Browse for authentic Navajo goods at a trading post before your 13-hour tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

There is NOTHING like soaring over the edge of the Canyon's cliffs in a helicopter. Do This!

You have to see Grand Canyon from the air! Our pilot was a terrific guide and their helicopters are state of the art. Just do it!!

Great trip, not to be missed. Memo our tour guide and driver was very knowledgeable and provided a constant summary of information on the surrounding area. Stops were well timed, food was probably the biggest sandwiches we have ever seen! We took the Maverick helicopter tour with pilot Patrick. He was very smooth in the air and the flight out over the forest lulled us just enough for our hearts to jump out of our chests as we went over the rim to the canyon. Wow what an experience! After the flight we had time for photos with the pilot and copter before joining the rest of the tour group for additional stops along the south rim before making our way home.
The tour company, Detours, were very flexible in allowing us to change our schedule at the last moment. A tour not to be missed, great value for money.

Excellent experience! Knowledgeable and pleasant driver. Helicopter was a great way to see the canyon. Saw wild Boson, Elk, and wild horses on the excursion. Really something.

This tour is highly recommended!

For starters, everyone helicopter riders or not is traveling on the bus from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon, yet non-helicopter riders are forced to wait on us for up to 2 hours at the Grand Canyon Village. Also, we were told non-helicopter riders could only get to see about 10 of the Grand Canyon on the ground, while helicopter riders get to see up to 60 of it!!

Our tour guide / driver, Jason, is very knowledgable with a great sense of humor! The pit stops at Sedona and later at the Cameron Trading Post inside the Navajo nation were GREAT!! In all, this tour is totally worth it!!
