We booked this tour one day in advance and were very pleased with the friendly service and the 4 sights we visited on the large and comfortable boat. We had transport from our hotel with pick up around 8am to the pier. Upon arrival we had to wait around one hour before everyone else came and we could board the large boat. However, they had water, punch, and cookies, and there were many small shops to visit while waiting. Once on board, we had a welcome speech from Noon, our guide, and were introduced to the rest of the staff. It was easy to identify them because they all work long sleeved pink shirts.
There were 4 stops – the first two were canoe visits to caves on 2 different islands. This was fun, and each canoe had a “paddle boy” so you didn’t have to paddle. The 3rd stop was James Bond Island, which is very touristy, and the 4th stop was a white sand beach where we could swim. Lunch was great with chicken, fish, vegetables, and fresh fruit. Beer was available to purchase for 100 bahts per bottle. On the way back, the staff performed a fun “Thai Lady Boy” show which had most people laughing.
The whole tour was light-hearted, with good/fun service, and relaxing. There were 57 people on the boat, which holds 80. There was a lot of waiting and downtime, but if you weren’t in a hurry and just wanted to enjoy sailing across the water and enjoying the ocean breeze, then this was fine. When we returned to the pier around 5:30pm, we were transported back to our hotel. All in all, a very good day and a pleasant relaxing experience.
disappointing a very long day sat on a boat with very little time to explore on the canoes had to take it in turns as there was so many people, there was little room on the boat, we were made to sit and wait for over 1 hour before we left to go on the trip, we were charged extra money to get on the boat this was not explained when booking, the food was good and that is the only plus to this trip...
Tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and funny they made the whole day enjoyable. Really had a good group of people kayaking was a blast as well as swimming and james bond island. The food served for lunch was a wide variety and authentic.
The canoeing tour experience was great and wonderful! Be aware of the additional transportation charges from your hotel to the meeting pier for some hotel locations, the national park admission fee, and the minimal port fee to be paid on the day of the trip.
This is a great tour for lazy people. You do not actually get to canoe as there are canoeists doing it for you, with 2 or 3 people per canoe.
The canoeists brought us into caves to see hanging bats, strange limestone formations and it was very exciting having to bend down in tighter areas of the cave. Our canoeist was very friendly, entertaining and seeing that we were a couple he offered to take many pictures of us too.
Meal on the boat was good! Service was great. Drinks wise they served water and coke, and you can choose to purchase chips, other beverages and beer. There was also a free lady man show done as a joke for the guests. What a hilarious surprise!
James Bond Island was quite boring, but the limestone caves and formations were very fun but a bit tricky if you don't have the right shoes to explore if you wanted to.
We were also allowed to swim among the tiny islands and could take a dip in the unusual spot, or even have an exhilarating dive off the 2nd storey of the boat!
The waiting time mainly in the beginning of this trip is quite a nuisance as we had to wait for the van to arrive to pick us up which was late for a bit then when we were fetched to the gathering point, we had to wait for enough vans to reach so we could take the boat out. In total we waited for about 1h 15 mins.
All in all it was an incredibly relaxing tour good for couples, big groups and families with young and old.
This was definitely the best day of our 2 week holiday! Amazing! We are Tim aged 81 and Gay aged 74, Tim uses a walking stick and Gay is very deaf, so probably not your usual customers!! Taxi on time to port, boat trip was fantastic, then into canoes and sailing into the caves, saw monkeys and bats in the caves, then to James Bond Island on a long- tailed boat and the crew extremely helpful getting everyone off the boat onto the beach or the jetty. The head of the crew, we think his name was Daka, a wonderful guy, always happy and joking but at the same time very concerned for our enjoyment, he befriended us and made sure we saw the island from the film, then positioned us to take photos of us holding the island in our hands, made sure we were first onto the canoes, even escorted us right back to the starting office holding my hand to cross the road, where the taxi driver was already waiting for us! I tried to give Daka a tip, but to my surprise he flatly refused to take it!! What a lovely guy. We would recommend this trip to everyone.
My husband and I went on this trip with our five year old daughter, it was suitable for her with the staff paddling the canoes into the caves. Lots to cram in on this tour and it flowed well with some fantastic places to stop. The boat is clean and newer than some and the staff were very friendly.
A charge to use the toilet at the meeting point unexpected extra charge to on the pier to get to boat, offensive entertainment on the way back. The buffet lunch was good, but no bottled water as promised.
