I would definitely go rafting, ziplining and ATVing at Best Rafting 4U again! If you're not afraid to get wet and maybe muddy, I highly recommend taking full advantage of everything they offer. And as an added bonus our guide took us to a monkey temple afterwards!
This was an amazing tour. We had about an hour ride to the location. Once we arrived we quickly got started. We came prepared with mosquito spray, swim suits, towels, long pants, extra pair of shorts and change of clothes and wearing tennis shoes. I believe being prepared helped our experience to be especially wonderful--in addition to the guides being very patient, kind, and helpful. We had never ridden elephants before, so fellow tourists gave us tips to relax and enjoy the ride. This worked and we had fun! The elephants were well treated. It was apparent they had made the trek with various people many times. We then did the white water rafting. This was AMAZING! Another first! All my 10 year old daughter and 13 year son had to do was hold on! And, of course, I held on too while the guides and my wonderful husband did steering of the raft. When waters get rough, the guides do all the work and safely get you through. It was not too much for first timers, the scene was beautiful, we even enjoyed getting in the water and cooling off toward the end of the ride. We then ate a very hearty lunch prepared by the staff--everything was delicious. Next was the zipline! It was a first for my children and the third time for my husband and I. The lines are pretty high and varied enough in length to provide excitement but nothing too scary for beginners. The guides, again, were great teachers! Love their patience. We ended with the four wheelers. This was fun! A little more treacherous than the other activities. There were lots of hills, mud, huge dips in the ground--a lot of focus was needed to drive the ATVs. This is not a driving terrain for beginning drivers--my 13 year old son was bummed that he was not able to drive. But, I appreciated the caution of the guides and their advice that our children ride along with my husband or myself. Safety was of utmost importance with this company and as a parent and mom, I could not be more appreciative. On the other hand, as the parent of tween children, it provided the perfect amount of thrill and enjoyment to provide a fun-filled experience of many firsts for our family.
Excellent tour! This is highly recommended for those who are adventurous. The rafting and elephant trek are great! The zipline is more for beginners, but still a fun treat.
The days was great fun for the family. Whitewater rafting the standout and the food was great and staff friendly. We started being pickup on time at just before 8:00am. The next 2 hours a drive to a 7/11 for a toilet stop and some snacks. Another 30 minutes to the camp, before we started with our elephant ride. The staff let you take control if you want to and takes lots of photos or you can pay for one of their framed photos. After the ride you can buy a tray of bananas to hand feed your elephant. Next we did the whitewater rafting you are given a helmet and lift vest and driven 5km up the river to the dam where the activities begin. There are lots of companies launching their activities at the same time so there is waiting. Some other providers do all the rowing and you just hang on, this does you are given an oar and a position to row, which we preferred as you can use this in the many water fights that occur between boats on the way down.
The next were the ATV ride you can pair up or go single. The track is good not too challenging. Just hope you get a good bike. During our ride we had slow rider up the front which slowed things up heaps. After one go one ATV or 30 minutes we were off to lunch. The food was great and plentiful.
After lunch we had zip line course which was 6 shortish rides and using a stick as brake. It wasn't bad but I have had other zip line experiences which we more exciting but good for 1st timers. After the zip line you could if you wanted use the herbal steam room but no one on our tour did. Next was back on the bus for about 45 minutes to the monkey cave/temple which we spent 30 minutes at before back on the bus for trip back to PaTong beach.
