Excellent tour. Our tour guide was amazing can't remember his name. He knew the area very well and gave good commentary as we visited various places. Also, gave us good advice.
George was an excellent tour guide. He picked us up at the airport and our tour started right away. He was extremely knowledgeable about Pittsburgh and the history of it. The duchesse incline was awesome and the view. I would highly recommend booking a tour with George, you wont regret it.
This gentleman did a great job of showing us the important sites and a couple of one-of-a-kind places. We enjoyed him and this tour.
George was wonderful and full of great information! We learned a lot about the city in a very short time. Hit many of the high points
This tour with George DeNolt was awesome. His passion for his city comes through the entire tour. It was very good and gave us a great sense of the city and by the time we were done, we felt as if we knew everything there was to know about Pittsburgh.
The tour of Pittsburgh with George was fantastic. He loves Pittsburgh and wants to show you the pride he has in his city. We have never been with such an enthusiastic tour guide. We saw all of Pittsburgh and even got to stand where the Immaculate reception happened and eat Pittsburgh Steeler's ice cream at Grandpa Joe's /candy store. The trip to the top of Mount Washington was also spectacular. George did not miss a thing in showing us Pittsburgh. In fact, we went back to the Strip area the next day to eat lunch and spend more time in the shops. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pittsburgh - even if it is not your first time!
George was awesome !! We learned so much about Pittsburgh , and we were amazed by his knowledge and passion of this wonderful city. Thank you George for making our trip so enjoyable !
George was excellent!! Loved his energy and his access to some secrets of the city. He is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his city. Job well done George!
Excellent experience. Our driver, George, provided a vivid, colorful history of Pittsburgh and its many districts. We thoroughly enjoyed his insight he made history come alive. Thank you.
Guide: George DeBolt -- self-taught and always willing to learn more historian and life-long resident of the Pittsburgh area.
Charming, knowledgeable, self-effacing, and a rabid Pittsburgh sports fanatic, we finished the tour which he tends to shorten or lengthen depending on the needs of his clients convinced that he was right in his conviction that, Pittsburgh is the coolest city in North America ... and probably beyond.
His knowledge of the historical establishment of the city, its development and growth, its success and failures borders on encyclopedic. He charms the visitor and whoever else is in earshot.
And, oh yes, don't forget to ask him for his recommendations and discounts before you leave his company.
One of the best city tours my wife and I have ever experienced.
Well worth the time. George was informative and entertaining. Fun for the whole Family.
The tour guide was amazing. The trip was planned precisely with great timing and sites nestled in. Learned a lot and I am convinced that Pittsburgh is a great city to live in. Thanks again!
There were eight of us that took the Private Pittsburgh City Tour with George DeBolt last week, and we all agreed it was a wonderful, enlightening, and fun experience. We learned a lot and had a great time, too! He knows a lot about a lot of Things Pittsburgh and crammed in a lot of wonderful sights and enriched his commentary with interesting and often funny and usually relevant asides. Our first stop was Mt. Washington where he dropped us off to take the ride up to the top for the best views of the city and its rivers, then met us up there and gave us a history lesson, pointing out where that history took place. When we come back to Pittsburgh, we intend to ask for him again, and again, and again! You will not be disappointed! He's the best!
Excellent tour! We loved it! George was so knowledgeable and took us all around the city for over 2 hours! Loved the incline especially! We would definitely recommend the 2 hour tour. Well worth the price for a wonderful private tour!
This was an amazing tour once we got going. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave much history of the town as well as showing a lot of the area. I could tell he is very proud of Pittsburg and showed the growth and thought that is going in to the renovation and reinvention of the area with the changing economic dynamic.
Again, Viator did not completely confirm the reservation and thus there was miscommunication at the start.
This tour was amazing!!! I had read the reviews about George beforehand and he lived up to everything people said about him. My son is turning 13 next month and he is a huge Pirates and Steelers fan. He had never been to Pittsburgh. This birthday trip was a dream trip for him. George met us early in the lobby of our hotel. He took us to several places around town. He catered to my son's love of the city and sports. We started at the incline and the views were spectacular. I have been a teacher for 17 years and always like to learn something new. George was constantly teaching us. While at the incline, he showed up pictures and maps and pointed out important parts of the city's skyline. Then he took us around the stadiums and pointed out the history and interesting facts. We stopped at The Immaculate Reception and the old stadium. Then, we saw and learned about the buildings. The glass buildings are stunning! We discussed architecture and history while doing trivia. The boys 10 and almost 13 had so much fun. George also seems to know everyone. They call him by name and greeted him with the same high level of respect George showed to everyone we encountered. He knew where to park, where to go, and what to see. In a couple of hours, we saw more than we could have all day on our own. This tour was well worth the money and I would highly recommend it.
George gave us a wonderful personalized 2 hour tour of Pittsburgh. He was personable, friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. He appears to know everyone in P'burgh! We highly recommend him. One thing, George's car was rather messy, but do not be put off by that - he is worth every penny!!
I took a wonderful tour of Pittsburgh with George. If this man ran for political office, he would surely win. Everyone knew him, greeted him with fondness and he was so very knowledgeable. The rest of my group was not available so I had a private tour. George was a wealth of knowledgeable and quite a historian. Very comfortable with him and many strangers gathered to hear him talking to me. Showed me the biggest Store for Steeler memorabilia I have ever seen, rode the incline complete with pictures and history lesson and visited Grandpa Joes Candy Store. Largest selection of vintage candy that I have ever seen. Fabulous to return to childhood if only for a short time. Thank you to Viator and especially George for showing your love of this city and giving some interesting facts for me to past on. Have already told family and friends in Pittsburgh to go visit George and fall in love with the city all over again!!
George set out on a mission to convince us that Pittsburgh is one of the coolest cities in the country and by the time he finished we were believers! Great tour...we learned soooo much and saw all the major spots as well as a lot of things that we wouldn't have seen on other tours. Thanks for a fantastic two hours!
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time.
I very highly recommend this tour. George is very friendly and very knowledgeable about the history of Pittsburgh. He will show you why Pittsburgh is the coolest city in the world. My family and I really enjoyed the wide variety, from the top of Mt. Washington to a bathroom at Yinzers where the walls are signed by Steeler greats and celebrities. We had a great time and learned a great deal about how Pittsburgh came to be the city it is today. George's tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Pittsburgh.

This tour was simply fantastic! George shared a ton of interesting information with enthusiasm and a clear love for the city of Pittsburgh. We came away with a great appreciation of Pittsburgh's history, culture and importance to our nation. The stops were wonderful, starting with an absolutely stunning view of the city from Duquesne Heights, after riding the incline. There are also some really interesting old photos there which George showed and explained that should not be missed! If you are a sports fan there's a nice stop at the Immaculate Reception too. The architecture in Pittsburgh has some real hidden gems which George explained as well. Plus, George is a great guy, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very friendly. I really highly recommend this tour, especially if you don'r know much about Pittsburgh. We didn't and we came away pleasantly surprised.
Though the day was overcast with rain threatening, our experience shinned brightly with George, our tour guide. He is very proud of Pittsburgh with its caring residents, clean air, thoughtful design, monied history, intellectual excellence, cultural, district, professional sports teams and diversity.. The time with him flew by and we learned so much about this great city. He came with maps and photos to illustrate his oral history.
A very engaging knowledgeable man. My husband and I have travelled a lot and like to start our stay in any new city with an overview tour from a local. This was the most thorough, enthusiastic tour we have ever enjoyed.
