Azores Whale Watching & Islet Boat Tour

It was an Aamazing experience I haven't felt. The staff was kind and happy. The whales I've seen were fantastic.

Saw an unbelievable amount of common dolphins. The briefing is very well done and the staff are very knowledgeable. Obviously they can't guarantee whale sightings, but it's worth it regardless.

This experience was something we will never forget. The tour itself lasted 3 hours and was on a small boat with a capacity of approximately 12-15 people. The introduction and initial information were comprehensive but not too long. Life jackets and waterproof coats were provided. On the day, we reached over 5 miles out from the shoreline and observed common dolphins, sperm whales and even a sea turtle. This was despite difficult conditions with higher winds and rougher seas leading to some big waves (and wet participants)! We had a fantastic time and would have loved the entire tour even without the exciting sightings of the marine life. The tour guide was an excellent and very knowledgeable host who spoke over 3 languages in order to make all participants comfortable. The entire tour was led in a very conscientious and inclusive manner that highlighted the importance of sustainable living and treated the wildlife in a caring and respectful way. We would definitely recommend warm and waterproof clothing and footwear (flip-flops are a must)! Take as little as you can, perhaps only a camera or phone, sunglasses and tissues. Remember to put on suncream before you leave. Overall, this is a must-do when visiting the island of Sao Miguel and was certainly one of the highlights of our trip. The tour was excellent value for money and will be something we will treasure for a long time.

We saw a few dolphins and then drove around seemingly haphazardly on the sea without stopping anywhere. It was cold and windy. It wasn't fun.

Beautiful views and a really nice boat. Do not go expecting to see everything you want because the tour really depends on what nature has to throw at you. On our tour we were able to see dolphins jumping over the waves, two sea turtles, ad some jelly fish. Would not recommend for people who get seasick very easily. Overall a great experience.

This excursion was both fun and educational. Our tour was hosted by a knowledgeable marine biologist, Lorenzo, who seemed to enjoy himself as much as we did. The boat was comfortable and equipped with underwater microphones, so we were able to both see and hear the sea life. We saw many, many dolphins and a pod of sperm whales. Lorenzo educated us about the life of these beautiful animals and the importance of respecting both them and the environment. Please know that this tour does not leave from Ponta Delgada, but from the nearby town of Villa Franca. The tour company will provide transportation from Ponta Delgada to their harbor at an additional cost. I used this service and greatly enjoyed the pleasant conversation with the staff.
