Highly recommended tour

Barry was a great tour guide. We had ample time at all of the stops, made a short stop for lunch (own expense), and he even fit in a stop at the lavender farm. Highly recommend.

i was not specifically impressed by the quality of the tour. Very little commentary, even when we visited some historical mine ruins. Except the first stop where we see a beautiful cave, the other stops were not very impressive. The last stop at the lavender farm was totally ridiculous for the amount of time we spent there. It was our last stop before going back to cruise ship, so why would someone decide to get a lunch there when we can have a good free lunch on board? To admire the scenery, 10-15 minute would have been sufficient. Also disappointed that the optional unzoo stop had to be requested in advance but no one told us to do so. We have 0 communication with the provider prior to the trip. The driver, however, was nice and accommodating to drop us there, and the timing was perfect - we got to see the feeding of the Tasmanian devil, otherwise we would not have a chance to see him close by as they hide during the day. that is a reason I give it 3* instead of 2* rating. Overall, I would recommend it only if you have nothing else to do in this port.

Customer has complained that they had no communication with the tour operator prior to the trip. Customers have every opportunity to ask questions, which we answer at length.

A Great Day in Port Arthur

The day was great. Ideal weather and the tours guides, husband and wife, were wonderful. Saw many wonderful places, the Lavender Farm was the last stop. That was good because it was a short stop.

We offer this half-day excursion around the Tasman Peninsula for those customers whose ship is docked in Port Arthur, but would rather do something other than be stuck at Port Arthur all day. Thank you Gordon for a very positive review. We try our best to give our customers more than they pay for.

First Viator Tour - Sites good/guide was disappointment

Four of us went on this tour with David as a guide. We enjoyed seeing the coal mine, blow hole, devil's kitchen and Tasmin Arch. However, we were disappointed in David as a guide. He was not very informative of the sites and unable to answer many several questions we had. He was very political and spoke more of that than of the sites. Also, the bus was very hot in the back and the intercom system was very hard to hear because of the loud bus noises. Had another tour the next day and David was to be our guide again but we asked for another guide and was given Jack. Will review that separately.

Port Arthur was full of neat opportunities to explore a variety of buildings where the convict community once lived as they worked. The views of the sea from the various cliffs was spectacular! saw Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen and enjoyed other very photogenic stops along the peninsula.

The sights we were taken to were interesting and beautiful. Somewhat disorganized about length of each stop that could have gone smoother. Guide needs to set time limits and we were not given enough time where there was a fair amount of walking needed. All in all, they tried to show us the best there was to see.
