What You Can Expect

Your tour begins with pickup from your Port Vila hotel or cruise port in time for an 8.30am departure. Traveling aboard a comfortable air-conditioned tour bus, set out to explore the island, starting with a visit to Iarofa Village.

Enjoy a thrilling introduction to island culture as you meet the locals and watch an impressive display of traditional dancing and fire walking. Continue to Eton Village, where you’ll gain a greater inside into local life and perhaps get chance to visit the village primary school (depending on opening times). After strolling around the village, relax on the white sands of Eton Beach, or dive in to cool off with a swim in the Blue Lagoon.

Pass through Pangpang, stopping to admire the gigantic ancient banyan trees, before arriving at Takara Lodge in time for lunch. Tuck into a delicious Melanesian style buffet lunch as you listen to live music from a local band.

In the afternoon, learn more about the island’s history as you visit some of the island’s World War II sites, then take in the views from Gideon’s Landing. Finally, pay a visit to the Survivor Beach, so-called as it was the filming location for the 'Survivor Vanuatu - Islands of Fire' TV series. Here, you’ll have chance to swim, snorkel, and enjoy afternoon tea.

After an action-packed day exploring Vanuatu, your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel or cruise port around 4.30pm.

Yves and I absolutely loved our private tour around the whole island! Everyone on the ship whom booked via Royal Caribbean paid more and went in mini buses, we had our own vehicle driven by the absolutely awesome Moses and Julie who are each both amazing and showed as so many amazing sights!

Excellent tour guide and tour. Great understanding of Vanuatu culture and history by end of the tour. Blue lagoon, lunch, and village tour with fire walking were all highlights of this excursion.
Patiste, our tour guide, was AWESOME!!
Only suggestion is to have a Viator flag or placard that identifies tour guide at the port.

Moses our driver and Baptiste our guide were truly excellent. They gave us so much interesting information while we were travelling around the island, without it feeling like information overload. The stops we had on our journey were excellent - from the traditional village and firewalking they really do it!! to the Blue Lagoon perfect water and our food stops... wow. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was perfect. I absolutely recommend this day tour.

i had a great time experiencing Vanuatu with my fun and friendly tour guide Baptiste! Definitely a must do tour! I had 4 days in Vanuatu as a solo traveller and this was a really fun day. This tour has something for everyone from seeing a Cultural village and watching traditional dancing/walking over hot coals, to being off the beaten track and driving past local villages seeing the ladies wash clothes in a creek, to swimming in the Blue Lagoon/jumping off swing ropes like Tarzan, trying traditional dishes at the lunch feast on the beach to going to where Survivor was filmed. Not to mention getting the chance to meet the locals! It's a non-rushed island time full day adventure and it was so interesting to learn about all the culture from Baptiste who is very knowledgeable and funny. It's the perfect way to see a lot in one day and also be in air conditioning! No regrets booking this tour!!

This tour was amazing! It was one of the highlights of our 18 day South Pacific Cruise. When you visit the village, please take note of the donation box in the center of the show area. Many people went back to the van before we noticed it. These villagers ask for nothing and share so much with you. Although I will admit that the vehicle we rode around in was a bit overcrowded and uncomfortable all of that was forgotten due to the most fabulous tour guide one could ever ask for. Badis was not only knowledgeable about the island but he was comical and entertaining. He shared many stories of growing up, information about the locals and interesting tid bits of information in addition to the island history. If you are lucky enough to secure a tour with him ask him what he thought about his first visit to a McDonalds restaurant. Hysterical! I highly recommend this tour and if you do go.... enjoy!

This was a highly entertaining and pleasant tour. An off the beaten track experience, we met some interesting characters and gained an email nsightful understanding of local customs and legends.
Note for cruisers: even though you may book this tour independently, you need to go to the ship-booked tours end of the wharf turn right on leaving the ship.

We were assigned driver Jimmy and tour guide Justin.

Our ship arrived into port a little late but we were quickly ferried away from the port which was quite hectic which we were thankful for.

We really enjoyed all of the stops on the tour. Highlights were the traditional village, blue lagoon, a local school and Ernest's WWII museum.

The food provided at the stops was really tasty - especially the selection of local fruits we had for morning tea at the lagoon

Justin was very informative and mixed good humour with his knowledge of the islands and we could tell from his interactions with the locals at the stops we made that this tour company also looks after the local community which was great to see.

Thanks for a great day guys, we had a slightly grumpy 3yr old with us but the attention paid to both kids was the icing on the cake.

Thanks for a great day guys - will recommend you to anyone I know travelling over this way in the future!

Was a great day out with a good driver Tony and guide Manu in a comfortable air conditioned van. Firstly we went to a village where the Chief spoke to us on the importance of family and showed how one could survive on coconuts. We also saw a demonstration of fire walking, which was very impressive. After that we drove to The beautiful Blue Lagoon for a morning tea of delicious fresh local fruit. Lunch which was also part of the tour was at a restaurant by the ocean. It was varied and the prawn curry was fantastic. The sight were lovely and very beautiful. Manu spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable. As they liked Bob Marley we made up some alternative words to No Woman, No Cry - no Tony no drive, no Manu no laugh. We had a lot of fun and thought this tour was good value.
