In the afternoon, learn more about the island’s history as you visit some of the island’s World War II sites, then take in the views from Gideon’s Landing. This was a long, very complete tour of the island that included the spectacularly beautiful blue lagoon wear or bring a swimsuit...there are changing rooms and perhaps swim shoes since the path to the lagoon is rocky. We had a fascinating tour through a native cultural village which featured a fire walk and demonstrations of how people lived centuries ago. A family-style Vanuatuan lunch was provided at a scenic beach and we saw where the US Air Force base was located during WW II. Altogether a wonderful day with one negative and the reason for four stars: the van we rode in was very old and had minimal a/c on a very hot day although our driver did a good job and our guide, Justin, was extremely knowledgeable.

Yves and I absolutely loved our private tour around the whole island! Everyone on the ship whom booked via Royal Caribbean paid more and went in mini buses, we had our own vehicle driven by the absolutely awesome Moses and Julie who are each both amazing and showed as so many amazing sights!

Friendly, happy and informative guideJustin and an equally happy driver in Moses. The 2 highlights of the day were the visit to the village with info on how they live eat and survive cyclones along with a fantastic display of fire walking. The visit to the blue lagoon was outstanding as was the fruit supplied for morning tea. The rest of the tour could easily be missed, the van was in very poor condition however the air con was faultless, the roads are difficult to negotiate due to constant wash outs, so dont be in a hurry. Lunch was worth missing not at all what we expected and not at any resort just a road side shack. our guide was under the impresion that our ship departed 30 min later than what we told him, and he did not seem to listen so we were 10 min late back to the shipnot a great feeling.to sum up , nice people trying to make a living but should only offer a tour that can be completed on time and not try and fill in with unneccassary stops of little interest and that have little resemblence to the advertised product.

Excellent tour guide and tour. Great understanding of Vanuatu culture and history by end of the tour. Blue lagoon, lunch, and village tour with fire walking were all highlights of this excursion.
Patiste, our tour guide, was AWESOME!!
Only suggestion is to have a Viator flag or placard that identifies tour guide at the port.

It was not a good experience. Middle of the trip the guide was changed. We kept our bags in the car and went for swimming in the blue lagoon. Everything seemed OK. But after returning hotel, wanted to pay for the dinner and realised that money is missing from the purse, which was also in the bag, we left in the car while swimming. Now can't blame anybody because we did not realise that before. But was not a good experience at all.

The van we were in was outdated and had no springs or shock absorbers. Roads were rough and drive drove lie a maniac. in one instance we actually left our seats when he hit a bump going too fast and almost hit the top of the van. at lease air-conditioning worked.

Lunch was disgusting and not eatable. they must have know this as not much out. could have been much better if a BBQ rather than the uckey stuff they put out.

First two stops were good --- the village in the jungle and the blue hole -- but the rest were worthless including teas and lunch.. million point was on no value, nothing to see, unless snorkelling?

best idea is to go to the village and blue hole then to duty free in town. understand it is less expensive than on the boat. many did it and many, many purchases lined up at dock to go on the boat when we got back so must be true. we did not have time to investigate.

Moses our driver and Baptiste our guide were truly excellent. They gave us so much interesting information while we were travelling around the island, without it feeling like information overload. The stops we had on our journey were excellent - from the traditional village and firewalking they really do it!! to the Blue Lagoon perfect water and our food stops... wow. The restaurant we stopped at for lunch was perfect. I absolutely recommend this day tour.
