Taking the tour on the motorcycle with my friend was a blast. We each took a turn sitting in the sidecar which was a great experience especially since I had only been on a motorcycle two other times and never in a sidecar. Our tour guide and driver, Delfim, was a great driver and very knowledgeable about the area, showing us various parts of Portimao along with a vineyard. We enjoyed sitting outside in the vineyard sipping our wine, enjoying all the sculptures and talking with Delfim. After going to the vineyard we were taken to a nice restaurant for a traditional Portuguese meal consisting off sardines on bruschetta with a side salad and wine which was fabulous. This was definitely a highlight of our trip.

This was indeed a great experience! - it was my first riding in a sidecar motorcycle through the sunny countryside. The tour is great, taking you from the modern resort of Portimao, to an old village, then up the hills to stop is a spectacular vineyard a place of fine arts all together - the art of making the wine and also sculptures. The wine tasting brings interesting flavours that stay with you on your way back to Portimao. And this is not the end - we also stopped at a tapas place to taste some local cuisine specialties - very tasty..yummy....I took the recipe. Then back in the motorcycle for a tour of the old city and to the beach. And of course - the other ingredient that made this trip special - our amazing guide. Thank you :

We had such an amazing tour with Delfim! A must do excursion! Delfim was fabulous, friendly, we felt totally safe with him, he was courteous and knowledgeable. On our way to the vineyard, he took us through traditional neighbourhoods, stopped to explain the history and the agriculture. During he ride he was friendly and was easily able to converse with us in English. Delfim Suggested some restaurants near where we are staying and our tour ended with a tasty traditional Portuguese meal of sardines and mackerel served with delicious bread. At the end of our tour he even dropped us off at the door very much appreciated. Delfim gave us a great overview of the local culture and history of the region. We highly recommend that you take this tour!

This was by far the highlight of our trip to the Algarve this year 4/9/17
Delfim the driver was a very good host stopping at various places on route to the vineyard.
We had a good tasting of the wines provided.
The reaction from people as we past on the sidecar was a laugh.
Then to the local tapas cafe and supplied us with our choice to test.
Very good chilled out way to see more than normal.

Delfim Martin, who runs this tour was absolutely fantastic. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone of any age. He toured us in and around Portomao very safely stopping lots of times explaining the city, it's history and culture. We sampled the local wines at a local vineyard. experience the local 'Sardine cuisine. The bike and side car was near new and a totally different way to experience Portugal.
Highly recommended, thanks Delfin.

We spent an interesting, entertaining and memorable time with our guide Delfim on our wine tasting and gastronomy tour of Portimao and the surrounding area.
We already knew the general area, having previously visited on a number of occasions, but Delfim was able to take us on roads we never knew existed, and all at a pace so that it was easy to take in the city and country views and soak up the atmosphere.
The tour of the wine estate, wine tasting and near Estombar and the tapas tasting in Portimao were all thoroughly enjoyable.
To experience it all on a motorbike and sidecar just added loads of fun.

Finally we got around to visiting a winery, but the way we got there was even better. We booked a tour through Viator now owned by Trip Advisor, which is owned by Wyndam with Delfem Martins who operates Bike My Side out of Portimao. He has an Ural bike with a side car Russian made and one person rides in the sidecar while the other rides behind Delfim. He has a handle in front of the seat behind him so there is no need to hug him as you wheel around the area, a fact that Delfim appreciated when he found out it would be me riding on the back and Kris in the side car. It was classic! We first went for a ride around the area with Delfim giving us tidbits about the history and the area, and then to a winery owned by a German sculptor. All in all he owned 62 acres of land with his work scattered among the grapes. All of the wines are estate wines and our tasting was private. We had a great time talking wine and laughing about cultural differences. After tasting nine different wines I was glad not to be driving. They were all good to excellent and we purchased three bottles. We next headed back to Portimao and rode through parts of the old town with Delfem talking about the history of the area. It was then on to a place that sells canned fish. Here we had a large toasted slice of rustic bread covered with tomatoes, garlic and olive oil with mackerel and sardines on top. This was served with a large salad and a glass of wine. The lady who ran the establishment spent time talking to us about a variety of things yes, politics was part of it, which was a re-run of all the other political discussions we have had. When we finished we headed out to the beach for the sunset, but the clouds that had moved in spoiled that. Still, cruising along in the dusk and driving right out on an overlook of the beaches without having to get off the bike was really great. After this, because where we were staying was on his way home, Delfim dropped us off at our door. What was supposed to be a three-hour tour had turned into over four hours. It was the best tour I have been on and, to barrow the Nike slogan Just Do It! For more information about the area go to their website

A lot of fun, and super comfortable! Delphin was a great guide with a ton of insight about Portimao and the surrounding area. We visited one winery and stopped into a little restaurant for a tapas style lunch. While I would have hoped for another food stop although we did go to the market, but it was Tuesday so not busy, this was a fantastic tour that I'll recommend to friends travelling to the area for sure

Brilliant tour. Our driver/guide Delphin was friendly, informative and a very safe rider. It was my first time on a motorbike and I rode pillian on the back. The vehicle was safe and sturdy and Delphin rode well.

The stops were scenic and we got to see the real Algarve where residents lived. It was a great way to see places off the beaten track. The first stop was wine tasting. The wines were amazing and great value if you wanted to buy them. We learnt a lot about wines in 10 mins than ever before. The second stop was a traditional sardine shop/restaurant. The food samples were delicious - absolutely amazing. Then we went to a food store with tradition products from the Algarve. We ended up buying honey - it will be the best honey you've tasted.
I highly recommend going on this tour for the experience, cultural education and fun of riding on a motorbike!

The tour exceeded our expectations and quelled the fears our children had when we booked. Our driver, Delfim was courteous, knowledgeable and reassuring making us feel very comfortable. Many people came outside the cruise terminal to take pictures of us. Highly recommend as a way see Portimao.
