Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls and Mt Hood Tour

Mt Hood

Get your feet wet on this introductory trip to the magnificent Columbia River Gorge and Mount Hood. Enjoy hotel pickup from centrally located downtown hotels or meet the tour near Director Park. Depart from Director Park in downtown Portland for the charming town of Troutdale, where you'll leave the beaten path for the scenic Historic Columbia Highway. Learn about the cultural history of the area from your guide, as you pass along the banks of the Sandy River. Spy orchards, blueberry fields and wildlife on your way to Vista House at Crown Point. Snap some dazzling panoramic shots of the Gorge and visit the museum.

Go on a circuit of the Gorge’s most striking waterfalls, including Latourell Falls, Wahkeena Falls (with an optional quarter-mile hike), and Multnomah Falls. Visit the classic Multnomah Lodge and stretch your legs with a short hike to the falls’ prime viewpoint, Benson Bridge.

Head to Hood River, a picturesque valley town renowned as a prime destination for wind sports. Watch kiteboarders and windsurfers skate across the water as you enjoy lunch at a local award-winning craft brewery, followed by a tour of the lovely Fruit Loop orchards and lavender farms. Take to the scenic drive that culminates at Timberline Lodge, located at a whopping height of 6,000 feet on the crest of Mount Hood. Spend some free time on a self-guided tour of the lodge, famous as the setting for the classic film The Shining, and enjoy a short hike along Pacific Crest Trail, a small portion of the trail that touches both Mexico and Canada.

Stop at Jonsrud Viewpoint before arriving in Portland in late afternoon, on your return.

I thought the tour was really good. We were only in Oregon for three days so we never would have saw that much on our own. Our tour guide Ross was really knowledgeable. The van was really nice too.

This was a great tour! Mischa our guide was knowledgeable and gave us detailed information about Portland and the waterfalls. We had plenty of time at each of the stops to take pictures and experience the wonder of the falls. We were lucky enough to go to Timerline Lodge and were so happy to see snow on the ground! The Lodge is a must see, it is incredible. We also drove the Fruit Loop and stopped in at a fruit stand to purchase apples and pears. This is a wonderful way to see the Oregon countryside!

Parker, our guide, was great. Since it was raining, he made more stops in the gorge to see waterfalls. It was beautiful. Good day.

It was great. Travelled in a luxury mini bus with a great young driver who knew the history of everything. We stopped for lunch at the little town of Hood River and a look in one of the breweries. The driver took us to ShepherdsDell which is a little hidden waterfall under a bridge. Gorgeous.

Ross was a great tour guide. We even managed to get to see Mt Hood somewhere on the way before it was completely covered with fog. It was an enjoyable tour.

Great trip and wonderful tour guide Mischa. He was very friendly and knew a lot about the area. Loved the many beautiful waterfalls we stopped at. Unfortunately it was overcast and rainy, so couldn't see Mt. Hood. Very beautiful area- the highlight of our Oregon trip. Thanks Wildwood adventures.

It was a perfect experience. Many spectacular stops with photo opportunities. Our guide Skylar with Wildwood tours made it a fun and memorable tour. It's going to be a 12 passenger van, very clean and beautiful to complement the incredible day. There were some nice snacks too. I can't say enough good things about it!
