You get what is advertised

You get everything that's advertised but very little information about anything at all, including the tour guide's name! We passed through an exceptional road network and across very impressive bridges on our way to Régua and were transferred onto the vessel to commence the river cruise all with very minimal interaction. Dinner was served and it was nice but a bit rushed. Considering there was 6 hours of cruising there was nowhere comfortable to sit and no bar for hot or cold drinks. Thankfully on the day we travelled it didn't rain so sitting up top was ok for a bit. The highlight of the cruise is negotiating the two locks, especially the first one that was about 30m deep. It is good value for money for what it is, you couldn't do it yourself for the money paid.

Be prepared to relax

Perfect for those not looking to do a whole lot of anything. The day starts with 2 hour bus ride in a luxury coach. Once reaching the beautiful town of ? , you are immediately loaded onto the vessel and parked below deck for photo opp. There are very limited options for beverages until lunch served at 12:30. The cruise is spectacularly beautiful and lunch very generous and yummy. Traversing the locks very interesting but by hour 4 I must admit it was enough for me, my adult daughter and elderly mother. Dress warmly.

The beginning was very disorganized but the boat trip later was good

Beautiful cruise down the river with a good hearty lunch served with wine too. But we were told to meet at 8am at the train station so we got up extra early. Then when we arrive we were told that the tour in english that we had reserved does not start until 9am, so they wasted an hour of our time!!! In addition, the train didn't leave until 9:20. In addition the tour guide did not make a general announcement telling us about the plan for the day and what we could expect, and she didn't even introduce herself to the group. She spent a lot of time speaking to other Portuguese speakers but barely said a word to us english speakers and did not seem friendly to us.

This is not a trip where you can expect to learn anything, except perhaps how to spell DOURO. The guide provided nothing informative along the way. I’m afraid her idea of a successful trip was getting a few passengers to dance to “YMCA” blaring from the boat’s PA system.

I signed up for the cruise as I wanted to do something special for my 61st birthday. Pedro called to let me know the cruise was already full, but when he heard it was my birthday he somehow managed to change things so that I could go. We lucked out with fantastic weather, and the views are incredible. Pedro is a great guide and attentive host. The boat is spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food was very good, and the service was excellent. It was a fantastic day -- thank you!
